Remember when you were a kid and didn’t have hardly a care in the world (well, relatively speaking)? And you’d head out to the backyard to swing the afternoon away? Bliss.
I almost made this my sweet escape for Friday, but sometimes you just need to escape on a Thursday and you can’t wait for Friday! Find these fanciful swings at Fletcher and Myburgh.
And how about a pumpkin swing for fall? I think that would be splendid!
I discovered these magical swings via my new friend Pam from the fabulous floral design and upcoming lifestyle store Ink and Peat (blog Housemartin!). You’ll want to check out her stuff as well, simply gorgeous!
Ow Melissa, thanks for posting this fanciful swings. The second one I think, is my very favorite, although I like them all. One of my favorite things to do as a kid and an adult too, is swing or rock in a chair. That has always been the most fun.
You sure know where to find some fabulous ideas and photos.
They looked great. It would be nice just to spend an afternoon in one of those. Here it’s a bit cold for such joy now – and also rainy, but next summer perhaps? Have a great day.
Love Elzie
PS! The picture was taken two years ago, in February!
Melissa these are fabulous! It’s been awhile since I visited Housemartin! You’ve inspired me to see what is going on there.
I did a little review of Mary Carol Garrity’s new book, today. We’re off to the lake tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll find lots to inspire me there. If not…I can just veg out, read MCG’s book and enjoy!
Happy weekend, Pat
Ok, I’m confused. Do you sit inside of them? Cause wouldn’t your head hit the back? You must sit inside of them. They’re adorable anyway. Even if you did obtain a laceration to the back of your skull…
Love,
Julie
They are all gorgeous aren’t they!! I must admit the title of your post made me smile-does the word ‘swinging’have the same connotation as it does over here in the U.K? Have a great weekend!
How cool are those!!! They’re like something out of a fairy tale!!!
Those swings are amazing. Thanks for sharing such beautiful designs on your blog!
Hi Mellissa! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love those swings! My grandfather fixed up a big old tire swing for me in his back yard. I spent hours in it as a girl. It is a wonderful memory that I hadn’t thought of in years. Thanks for sharing those pics.

I’ve been reading your blog, and you have me completely hooked (It’s everything I wish my blog was). I hope you don’t mind, but I posted a link to it on my blog. I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts behind each space, and your style. If I ever scrape enough money together to hire someone as interior design consultant it will be you!
I’m hopeless! I get terribly motion sick – yep, even on a swing. But these are so incredibly cool, I’d like to have one anyways =) Blessings… Polly
Wow those are the most spectacular swings I have ever seen!! I love, love, love the pumpkin one, it looks like it belongs in a fairy tale:)

I just tried to have my Photos-City-Mine one entered on the Daily City Photo Blog. Eeeek! I had to submit a request and wait for their decision. Oh sigh! Why did I do this to myself??? I feel like a new kid in school, so in hopes the other kids will like me. Bleahhh… Oh why did I do this??? LOL.
Mmmm, sorry for going off on a tangent, in my very first comment here. You’ll *dread* seeing me comment again. -grin-
