Welcome to Fall Nesting Week

by Melissa @ The Inspired Room on September 1, 2008

Fall nesting is seriously underway at my house. I didn’t think I was necessarily in the “nesting mood” quite yet, but things were getting a little out of hand around my house after the wedding and busy summer. Once I got myself going, I really felt inspired to settle back into my fall routine.

Sometime Tuesday we will kick off the Fall Nesting Week festivities, but I wanted to get our favorite Mr. Linky up and ready for those of you who are ready to go! You can link up any post from your blog this week to show us how you are getting ready for fall, nesting, or general cleaning & organizing for the upcoming season. And you Aussies can play along too, nesting is not limited to Fall! Or, show us last Fall’s activities if you’d like!

› Need some inspiration in a hurry?

Not to worry. These should inspire you:

› Not ready for Fall decorating but need inspiration to nest? No problem!

Maybe you just need some inspiration on organization, simplicity or cleaning to jump start your Fall Nesting? Have no fear, I’ve got some links for you to some of my favorites:

spring cleaning

Ok, now its YOUR turn! Get NESTING and while you are at it, share it with the rest of us! Leave a comment to let us know what you are up to and link a post up to Mr. Linky! Then come back all week to find new inspiration! I’ll be posting articles, tips, links, photos and whatever I find to help motivate & inspire us to get the new season started! Including MORE reader ideas! Plus, we’ll be joining up with Blissfully Domestic to celebrate the big relaunch of the magazine with an amazon.com gift card giveaway from me to you. Details to come! Now, get nesting!

READY, SET, NEST!

Mr. Linky instructions: Please, link to a specific Fall Nesting Post. No general links to your blog or unrelated topics, please. Please put a link back from your nesting post to this post so your friends can be a part of this too. Feel free to add several links to different fall nesting posts throughout the week, and return to see all the amazing nesting ideas!

UPDATE: I’VE ALSO ADDED ANOTHER MR. LINKY for you to post about “20 LITTLE THINGS” that inspire you in Fall! See details here.

Hi Thanks so much for doing this. I absolutely love fall, and feathering my nest, since the fall means more little birdies will be by to eat (Thanksgiving)! God put something within us to want to decorate our homes and make them warm, inviting and comforting to others. It is wonderful! Blessings,

I am looking foward to fall nesting, but living in the high desert of California where today it was 99 degrees it is kind of hard to think about fall. I am though working on some ideas for some fabulous fall conatiner gardening. While on a visit to NYC in June I saw some amazing designs using monacramatic colors in front of many shops and apartment buildings.

23 laura @ the shorehouse. September 2, 2008 at 1:38 am

well… it is spring here so my home is prepaing for homegrown posies of bright daisies, fressias and jonquils but i’m filled with memories of last autumn. Bowls of red apples and pears dress my table. Collected leaves of different shapes and colours are scattered amongst the fruit. I light candles in bundles and continue with the autumn leaves.
I visit the market at place the collection of pumpkins beside my dresser.
I love Autumn! Wish I’d have taken photos! :(

My husband and I have been preparing for fall the last two weekends with reorganizing and cleaning out. My oldest daughter and I just put up the decorations yesterday. Later this month we’ll go apple picking so the house will smell delicious! A family tradition for October is taking the kids to a nearby farm to pick out pumpkins, a hay ride and making Pumpkin soup (served and cooked in the pumpkin).

Well, Fall has not officially arrived down here in Florida yet!

We have recently moved into a little house built in the 1950′s, and have just finished redecorating the bathroom. We finally got it painted and got the shelves, towel racks and decor up on the walls. It’s a tiny little space, but it’s nice now.

And as soon as my new shower curtain gets here, it will be absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Melissa! I posted about some fall nesting I did this year (rather than last year like I posted about yesterday), so I’m linking again. I guess I just can’t resist the allure of Mr. Linky! Now I’ve got to get around and see all the other great fall nesting!

Be careful girls, Mr. Linky can be addicting! :-)

Keep on sharing and linking all week, your ideas have been great so far and I know lots of you are getting inspired to share for the first, second or yes, even THIRD time!

I love you all, thank you for making this SO fun & inspiring!

I am joining your nesting group- I hope it is okay that I am not fall nesting just quite yet but am making a nest for guest that will be arriving tomorrow!! My blog shows a tissue paper texture technique I did on the wall and I also wallpapered the ceiling(talk about a challenge!!) Hope to get a few decorated pic up soon- Your blog is great and this is such a fun idea. Well I am off to see how others are nesting! :) mary

I’m completely blown away by all of the wonderful fall nesting ideas that everyone is sharing! This is such a great way to get the season started. I’ve gotten so many great ideas over the last couple of days. Your readers are some seriously creative chickies.

I just finished a really cool (in my opinion) decoration (I’m not sure what to call it) for my front door. Now if I could just get a decent picture of it.

Dear One, may I please not be quite ready yet? I love Autumn and I have been happy it’s here. And I have been feeling that ‘Autumn-eee feeling.’ But… -sigh- I just can’t get FULLY into all of it yet.

But THANK YOU oh so much for doing this week! All of it. All the links which I can horde, until my full Fall Nesting Mania strikes. :-)

Thank you, thank you, thank you…

Fun party, Melissa! I don’t see the Martha post though…is it gone?

Just another comment to express my appreciation for nesting week. It inspired me to write a blog about my dad – who reads everything I write and for whome it would mean a lot.

LOVE this fall nesting idea, and I am having so much fun peeking at everyone’s ideas!!! (Especially MARTHA! Geez!!!!) :) But here in Southern California, it is still summer, even though school is starting and such… but 90 degrees is no time to bust out fall decor unfortunately!!!! So I will just check out all your fall nesting pictures and get inspiration for my own at the end of the month:) Love your blog as usual, you always post such great ideas and such beautiful things! xo!
