Bright Sun-shiny Day

What is it lately with me being drawn to bright sunny rooms, bouquets and new snazzy cotton hand towels?

Sun deprivation?

Bright Sun-shiny Day

Bright Sun-shiny Day

Bright Sun-shiny Day

I feel some spring fluffing coming on.

I can’t take it anymore. Get your Spring Fluffing posts ready! Next Monday, let’s BRING IN THE SPRING! I want to see TULIPS and YELLOW and CITRUS GREEN — let’s put away our winter stuff. Let’s talk about spring cleaning and planting flowers and all that spring stuff.

I know, it is early. But I am ready (and you know me, I get an early start on the seasons). Next Monday, I’m declaring it to be spring, so show me the spring!

Because it is my blog and it can be spring if I want it to be.

And if you are in Australia or Florida or Hawaii right now, humor me. I need some sun.

I was picking up litter in my community this weekend and found 2 bags of heirloom sunflower seeds good for 2009. Those will be recycled in our garden. Meanwhile, I’m spring cleaning my old farmhouse this week. Snow peas, carrots and spinach are already planted in the garden. Bring on the sunshine!

I really love that middle collection of hand towels. If I saw that trim in the store, I would hate it. However, it looks so cute on the brightly colored towels. What a fun little DIY project! Hmmm….

I’ve been wanting to spring clean for a while now… I think being cooped up indoors is starting to get to me. I had our windows wide open when it hit 36 degrees just to get some fresh air in the house :) 36 felt warm after our negative temps much of the winter. Definitely thinking spring and ready to join in!

ME TOO! Yesterday I grabbed several items that were itching to be painted ivory. My house is rustic and I love it, but the dark colors are wearing on me. So I grabbed a new can of ivory spray paint, fumed up my basement for the day, and I have bright springy accessories now! That will be another post this week. I will pass it on over next Monday for ya!

Oh poop! I wrote a big huge long juicy fun comment and my computer connection (wireless) decided to go wonky! Hate that.

The gist: without out sounding snobby… I was far more tactful with comment No. 1. Spring has sprung in AZ. 85 Degree high today. Garden is being prepped, birds were chirping outside my window last night well past MIDNIGHT… oh my word I think all of the birds scheduled to leave for Washington were outside my window packing. SO loud. I’m excited for your spring post and I’ll think up something Great!

Sidenote: I’m doing a series on Toile the next few Tuesdays. I’ve been researching history of Toile and found some fabulous pictures. The series will conclude the last week of March with a Toile party! I’ m a little nervous so any tips thrown my way are always appreciated!

    LOVE today’s post!

Hi Melissa! I just found your blog over the weekend and I have to say that you have totally inspired me to do some *fluffing*. I am a PhD student on a very limited budget and living in a share house….so my fluffing is limited to my room…but I am planning on some BIG changes. I’ve already started de-cluttering and thinking about what I can do to my room to help to inspire me to the life I really want.
Here in Australia we have had plenty of sunshine….it’s currently a sunny 26 degrees (80F) and just gorgeous. So I’m sending you some Sydney sunshine….hope you enjoy it :)

I am so ready for spring….and it will be March next Monday! Sadly, we had to put our Golden Retriever down last Friday. I spent the whole weekend spring cleaning and even dug out a few bright spring accessories to try and cheer me up. Being busy and some of my favorite things around helped a little. I could use some spring right about now.
The good thing about getting your spring cleaning done early is you are set to go when the temps rise and the garden calls. Who wants to be cleaning closets when they can be playing in the dirt!
