I know the feeling… right now I’m in the process of packing, but since I am moving, I have an empty canvas to work with. Right now I am in the process of deciding my color schemes for each room. I hate unpacking, but it’s such fun to start fresh!

I long for the Pacific Northwest every time you show harbor scenes like that! And the rock skipping! Whoooo Hooooo!

It’s just the permanent wanderlust I guess because the scene right outside my door looks very similar! Kim and I walked through the marina this morning and just stared at the boats, passing judgement on the creativity of each name as we passed. oohing and aaahing at the million $$ ones and thinking “maybe one day” at the older ones we might be able to afford if we can get these boys fed for a few more years!

    Have a great week!

Melissa, looks like you have gotten quite a bit done. I am happy for you in your new found place. You know you get more done when you eat a little chocolate (with coffee of course) and play really fast music! It is called power-cleaning…or in your case power-unpacking! Hope you are finding some beautiful days in the midst of all your sorting and house foofing!

I had a great weekend with lots of friends and one of my grandsons (age 4) we have been out most of the weekend, yesterday we went to church ( he doesn’t normally) then for lunch at new friends, then a little rest and then tea/supper at another. Today a slow start and then spend all day at a really good friend who has children, a huge garden, play house, sand pit, you name it , its there, He had an amazing time, so did I!!

I just noticed something else in that first photo — the reflection of the ship in the mirror. I just hung a round mirror like that myself a few days ago, and I have been loving how it reflects a ship on a bookcase across my room too. :)

Just wanted to tell you… you inspired me so much with the first photo on here (the round mirror, white plates) that last night when I went home I redesigned the display on my buffet table — using a few beautiful pure white pieces and a black iron plate holder I have collected but not known what to do with. I couldn’t stop admiring it all night — finally the look I was going for! I wanted to move my round mirror there like you have it, but I have a beautiful print above the table already and love that look too. Already had the silver candlesticks there too and a quaint early american lamp (one of those with the metal shade, tall brass finial that comes down through the shade to form the candle holder type base). So the addition of one beautiful white plate I have (scallopped with
lots of cut-out design like lace) atop a black iron plate holder and a little white
pedestal piece someone gave me were just perfect! I needed one more piece and remembered a set of white candleholders I usually only use at Christmas — looks like a flat white bow with a sweet angel face in the center of the bow. So I pulled out one, added a candle and ouila! Warm ambience like your photo! My walls are a colonial blue, white trim everywhere, so the white is spectacular. Funny too because I was just rearranging a shelf with the only other white pieces I have this past weekend (a few decorative creamers), inspired by your photos here and some I’ve seen in magazines lately. Anyway, thanks for the lovely inspiration! And so fun to be able to put it together with pieces I’ve already had and not put to good use before! :)
