Vintage Bathroom Touches

Please welcome my special guest and good blogging friend, Heather Bullard! She has the most beautiful blog and has just relaunched her online boutique, if you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting her, you’ll not be disappointed!

Heather radiates a beautiful life from the inside out and I love being inspired by her! I know you will love her too! Enjoy her post on The Inspired Room today!

Vintage Bathroom Touches

One of the quickest ways to add character and charm to any space is to use vintage accessories in your everyday rooms. They add a unique quality that is hard to duplicate with modern home furnishings and gives a home that cozy well lived in feel.

Vintage Bathroom Touches

For one of my bathrooms I’ve added a small painted table with a rattan suitcase for storing unsightly necessities along with an antique vase, collected bottles and several pieces of ironstone to hold soaps and jewelry.

Vintage Bathroom Touches

An old tattered carpenters box makes the perfect bath tub companion for fresh wash cloths and a few collected seashells. And an antique metal soap dish holds handmade glycerin soap and a wooden nail brush along side a statue vase with a lovely rusty patina.

Vintage Bathroom Touches

By taking the time to wander a few local flea markets and antique shops I’m able to find wonderful accessories that are truly one of a kind. Shopping vintage not only gives you beautiful finds but is also gentle on your wallet and the environment! It seems like a win, win for everyone.

Thank you Heather! I love your accessories!

Hi Heather – and thank you for featuring these beautiful photos, Melissa! I’ll click over as soon as I submit this.

These photos remind me of a place I once stayed in when I lived and worked in Greece. I feel like I’ve started my week with a spa moment, a sea breeze and a breath of fresh air. (White, cream and a sheer lace curtain do it for me every time!)

Vintage is often overdone, cosy can become clutter, but these photos show how we can use carefully chosen pieces to create a feeling of timeless serenity and a life well-loved.

    Beautiful!

Awesome ideas! I have so many old glass bottles like the ones in her first photo. I have them stored right now because I didn’t know what to do with them. I guess sitting them out are okay! Beautiful!

Flowers and plants finish a room – we love the mauve green hydrangea in the patina urn and the echeveria give the statue vase a more modern look. Beautiful post and site… Thank you!

Wow a bathroom big enough for a beautiful table…My bathroom is so small, compared to the space downstairs…it is beautiful :-)

Oh, this is just so darn lovely! (And I can almost smell that luscious soap through my laptop.) These are beautiful. Of course for the moment now I have bathroom envy … but I’m going to flip it on a positive note and see how I can infuse a bit of glory into my lackluster powder rooms.

That is just lovely! The colors are so calming.

I have to ask, is that a live succulent? I have never thought of putting using those in the bathroom because I don’t really like them, but I like yours. It adds just the right touch of nature and they are low maintenance after all.

I had to do a double take on these photos! The tiles and faucets are just like mine! I have a window in my bathroom and have tried to decided how to dress it and whether I had room to put a piece of furniture in front of it … I love the small, shelved piece that Heather used. I just might have to go garage saling or antiquing soon!

Very pretty! And love Heather’s blog.
I’m working on a mini-makeover of a guest bath right now and we’re planning on adding more vintage touches to what’s already there. Your inspiration confirms for me that we’re right on track to get a look the homeowners (and their guests) will love.
