T his room, bath and patio is where I will be spending a lot of time in the coming days! It is sure nice being able to look outside and see the sunshine! Beats looking at a hospital parking lot.

You might recognize these as rooms from my old house. How observant of you! I am not in Washington. I was back in Portland so my son could go to his favorite day camp when the emergency room visit occurred. So, now I am confined to this house at least until my follow up visit at OHSU hospital next weekend. This is the only room in the house with a bed (since the house is for sale) so thank goodness I have at least one comfy spot to recuperate!

The rest of the house only has a random chair or two, but the rest of our belongings were moved out when we thought the house was sold in May. That means all of our kitchen utensils and other necessities of daily life are gone! It is strange being here without my things, but strangely familiar and comfortable.

My husband and kids will be back in Washington all week but my parents are staying with me (sleeping on a blow up bed — now that is a big sacrifice!) to watch over me and bring me food. I like being waited on hand and foot so I could get used to this!

As promised in the previous post, if you’d like to read more behind the scenes details, you can now click right here on the word INSPIRED! to read more! I didn’t make a button yet, but eventually there will be a button in the sidebar to read my random snippets of life. You can also find a link right now to the category at the top of my banner, the last button says “INSPIRED!”

Thanks again for all your well wishes! It means a lot to me.

They don’t make “I’m really sorry about your angry gallbladder” cards.

    I checked.

So, I wanted to send you a little note and let you know I am praying for you…

    :)

    Much love,

So sorry to hear about your health!

My mouth fell open when I saw those pictures of your room. Simply beautiful. I’d never leave my bedroom if it had that view. Stunning! I hope your house sells soon. I know the market here isn’t very strong. I’m sure you are appreciating the A/C since our Portland weather has been hot lately!

Glad I didn’t send you a squishy hug, then! My mum had her gall bladder removed and went on to feel ten times better. Turns out a lot of the times she’d been ‘under par’ had been caused by it.

Can’t send you chocolate and your garden view is so beautiful you don’t need flowers, so here’s a wee cyber basket of bleached white sea shells for the spirit…

I’m so glad you have such a beautiful place to rest for a bit so that you can fully recover. It must be bittersweet to be in your old house, but what a blessing that it’s available to you for this time when you need it. And that your parents are staying there with you–now that’s a double blessing. They must love you so much. That’s the kind of love and support I want to show my kids when they’re adults–a reminder that I’ll always be there for them if they need me.

I pray that your recovery will be swift and complete. You are so dear to so many of us who know you through your blog!

    Melissa,
Best wishes to you for a full and complete recovery. I fell in my home last year, and ended up in the ICU. I can understand the shock you have going from completely healthy to being waited on. I was never frightened until afterwards, when I thought about what I could have missed. I think these things remind us to take care of ourselves and appreciate our family and friends. Everything else can wait. Sending love and health to you!

My goodness that is a story and half, hope you are on the mend quickly.

Amazing how the body can go off that quickly but isn’t it wonderful that we live in an era when the doctors can do something to help us mend quickly too.

That room alone is quite enough for me… I have no problem indulging hours after hours in a room surrounded by lush greenery like this.

Love the greenery outside. Wish some day I’ll be able to afford a house with similar views – trees, flowers, ponds etc. I love flowers!

Wow sorry to hear about your health and our prayers go out to you for a speedy recovery. I absolutely love the room. And I agree if my room looked like this I’d never leave. Guess Ill have to hire staff or make the rest of the house as beautiful as this.
