My good blogging friend Holly has been designing an adorable room for a little boy and she gave me permission to share it with you! She knows I love a theme that is not too themey. And this one is PERFECT!
The theme here is dogs, but it would be oh-so-easy to change out if he decides dogs are not for him and he wants aardvarks or something. And if he loves dogs forever, this room is not going to be dated.
I adore all the little details! You’ll have to click over to Holly’s post on this room to get the scoop on all the details…
I love the stripes too. I did stripes like this for my girls rooms back in the 90’s and I wish I could have brought their walls along with us when we moved. It was a lot of work but I sure loved the effect! They had really tiny rooms, but the stripes really opened up the space!
Yesterday when I was doing my Polyvore room, my nine year old son was set up nearby with his sister’s computer. We got him all hooked on Polyvore. He mastered the whole room design thing right away. I had to laugh, as his Polyvore room design was based a dog theme as well. It is just a little less subtle. Well, a lot less subtle. Dogs on the chandeliers, dogs on the bed, dogs on the chairs. Whatever works for ya. Imagine the dog hair! OY.
This is cute. I love the use of primary colors. I noticed the little dog on the nightstand “Hudson’s room”. Love the name Hudson for a boy,(was one of my picks for our son) and love the chalk board dog. That is a chalk board right?
Oh I LoVe. In my dotage I have falled for red and black. The little boy’s room is delightful, but YOUR little boy’s design is the best!
I love it! Although you’d never know it from my son’s room, I really love non-themey kids rooms.
How adorable! I LOVE the striped wallpaper and the bedding! She did a great job on the window treatments, too!
Holly’s room is so classic and like you mentioned, easy to transform to new likes and dislikes.
I think I like your son’s dog room rendition, but my allergies sure wouldn’t:)
That doggy blackboard is too cute. Love it.
I love this room! I’m always a bit theme-resistant, so I love this approach so that you don’t have to commit to the theme forever.
Too cute! I’m a big fan of anchoring cute with black…and polka dots are fab!
What a great room for a boy to grow in! I love the red along with black and white. I also love the name Hudson — or any boys name with ‘son’ on the end. My boys are named Jackson, Nicholson and Tyson.
Your son’s set is so adorable! I showed it to the rest of Polyvore team and we all love it. I’m going to print it out and hang it on our wall : )
You made my son very happy today! :-)
Absolutely LOVE this post!Just adorable!!
I know this is an old post, but I love that room!!! Also, I’m wondering if you have written any posts on organizing playrooms? I’m in DIRE need of ideas/tips/HELP!
Here’s the proof: No (play) Room at the Inn
