Fall Nesting Week Returns!

It is nearly that time again! Oh, yes…Fall Nesting Week is coming NEXT WEEK, Sept. 2! What is Fall Nesting Week, you ask? Well if you missed it last year, you can get a ton of ideas of what it was like right here in our 2008 edition. Don’t worry, it is fun and painless.

In a nutshell, Fall Nesting Week is how we get ourselves IN THE MOOD for fall. We talk about fall stuff. We look at photos of fall decorating ideas. We share fall tips and ideas. We start thinking about fall and we look around our house contemplating some fall decorating. We think about fall organization and back to school stuff. And baking. Definitely baking.

By the time the week is over, we are IN THE MOOD for fall. That is the goal anyways. I know there are those of you out there that resist my attempts to get Fall under way. That is OK. Resist all you want. It is my blog and I get to decide when we start fall around here. Ha.

Hey, pssst….is it wrong of me to re-use the advertisement from last year’s Fall Nesting Week? Especially since it has the Fall Nesting Week DATE from last year so I’m just going do it the exact same dates because I am too busy to change the dates on the buttons? You’re OK with that? Phew. You are getting to know me too well.

Other people create fancy new stuff and me, I just dig out the old stuff. I’m just going to call it repurposing.

Let’ s create some NEW fall posts to inspire us for this party, even if you do repurpose some ideas from last year. Be ready on September 2nd to link up a Fall Nesting Post!

Let the nesting begin.

Oh, and if you are wondering about our Fall Procrastinator’s Party, we’ll do that the first week in October! So start planning your project and I’ll make the official announcement soon!

Oooh so glad I saw this, I have been longing for Fall for weeks now, but alas it’s still over 100 degrees here in TX just about every day. That doesn’t stop me from buying magazines for Fall/Halloween and planning on decorating my house :-) I’m off to check your post from last year, cos I didn’t know your blog back then ;-)

    Melissa,
I was outside yesterday and could feel it: the AIR is different, the LIGHT and the SKY are different, and the SUN is different. FALL is almost here, for sure!! Tomorrow is the first day of school for my 8th grader, and the first month anniversary of my when I started my blog! (Opened to the public 2 weeks ago!) Now that’s the way to start FALL!!
Thank you for your inspirational words and pictures, and your positive spirit.

    Hi Melissa,

Fall is my absolute favorite season and I have already gotten out my decorations, I can’t help myself. When the neighborhood pool closes, I know fall is coming and they closed down this past weekend! This year I even switched out my summer porch furniture and opted for 2 brown wicker chairs on clearance at Big Lots and made the porch very fally!!

Okay, this cracks me up. I start thinking about Fall in August because my kiddos go back to school at the beginning of August. However, in Phoenix area, the weather is still a very sunny and a very HOT 110 degrees. Things don’t cool down in these parts until after Halloween. It seems like I miss all of those good fall decorations because truthfully, I don’t think pumpkins and squash would last a week in the 110 degree heat outside our house… and inside? Well, we’re still focusing on keeping cool and the thought of warm drinks and cinnamon make us long for cold showers and ice cream!

I’ll be joining in girl. I love ya and enjoyed the decorating frenzy I went through last year… inspired by?… of course, The Inspired Room. Have a great day!

I don’t change my home around with the changing seasons – I suppose it is because in the the UK it never gets very warm and it never gets very cold, so there is less that *needs* to be done, compared to where my in-laws live in Pennsylvania where there is such a stark difference between winter and summer.

As the seasons change I start to tidy up though, and start thinking about sorting the garden out as I put it to “bed” for the winter.

We’ve had such a nice summer I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to it. I do love fall though and Indian summer is such a treat! I’m looking forward to seeing all the fall decor…it’s such a cozy time of year. I love seeing the warm rich colors. I think I’m alone in thinking this but I’ve become a bit bored with all the white that’s so popular now. It a great idea…thank you for taking the time to come up with this.

Hey Melissa, love all your posts lately. Yes I too am in the mood for fall and love the ‘Nesting week’ that is planned. Last years was so much fun….I just loved everyones posts and pictures, ideas. It was like looking at the best magazine pictures (your favorites) over and over again. In fact this year I plan on getting myself a cup of my favorite coffee and creamer, leaning back and enjoying myself thoroughly. Have a lovely day!
