I saw this in the Southern Living magazine I picked up this weekend and I just about fell out of my chair. I love organizing things this way. Now I just have to find the space to create one!

Can’t live without my “mom” calendar – with a busy job that includes some out-of-town travel and a husband who works shiftwork, I NEED to be organized. Someone asked how to keep the command center organized – Saturday morning as I’m clearing out the fridge, I throw out anything that’s already happened and reprioritize any papers/photos/etc.- that way the fridge stays “fresh” inside and out.

I saw this in the last issue and have been gathering supplies to do this in my kitchen. This would make life easier on those busy mornings rushing out the door for school.

Great tip! I love the idea of a command center. I think it could look very nice as well if done right.

I’m off to read the article, but first I just had to comment on the photo. I am usually a big fan of white trim, but the gorgeous dark brown crown molding along with the window molding is absolutely striking. Love it…okay, now back to organization. My family would be lost without me, same for most families I am betting!!

Okay this is so what my family needs! I love the idea. Far too many things going on with my little fam to not be organized.

Every home needs one! The perfect place for a command center is close to where your papers pile up right now. Look around for a wall, door or touch of floor space there are so many creative storage options.

A command center is essential here. I use 3m double side sticky hangy uppy things to fix a desk sized calendar to our wall. There is no way a family of 8 can fit everything in on a standard calendar anymore. I still need to rework command central with a bulletin board. For now I keep a family binder that houses all of our essential information and phone lists. My dream?!?! A kitchen laptop with all things at my fingertips…. I’m still held up with the fact that it requires time to actually organize the laptop and get it ready. I dream of hubby whisking my kiddo’s away for a 2 week camping trip while I spend 2 weeks finishing projects and organizing “stuff” around the house from top to bottom. Let’s see, I only have 16 more years until all of the kiddos are out of the house and I can do it all without interruptions …. sigh.

I sooo need one of those- but I need someone to organize “me” so I can get one of those organize-things. I am trying to get things organized but as soon as I do- my 3 little “un-organizers” get into it *sigh*

I need a JUST ME command center. There’s a BOARD (that’s the ticket…I need visuals) at Pottery Barn that is white with each day of the week listed…dry erase…so you can write the things for that day…different than a calendar. Oh I need that posted right in plan sight!!!! Great idea! Need to splurge and order the board! Thanks for the INSPIRATION!
