DIY Ideas

Make Your Own Silhouette Pillows {Brooklyn Limestone}

Some of you might remember about five months ago I announced that I was setting up some new channels on The Inspired Room. The first one I was going to set up was a DIY page. As you might recall, I invited you all to share your own DIY home decorating or remodeling posts as my guest contributors.

You probably thought I forgot about the DIY pages. Or more likely, you probably forgot about it. But, periodically over these past months I’ve been adding articles and ideas you have submitted and finally {drumroll}, the first series of  DIY posts are now live. I have some fancy pants plans for the page down the road, but for now you will find a list of DIY posts. It is a start!

Quite often my ideas come faster than my ability to actually implement them {rolls eyes at self}. Eh hem. Thank you for your patience with me!

If you submitted ideas and you don’t see them on the DIY pages, don’t worry. I still have posts waiting in my inbox and will continue to add ideas over time. I hope you all will share an idea with us! The more the merrier!

This is just a small start so feel free to add your own inspiring ideas! I want YOU and YOUR blog to be represented as one of the great “go to” resources for DIY ideas!

You do NOT have to have a blog to participate. All submissions are considered.

DIY Ideas

So how can YOU contribute a DIY post?

It is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. For now, I have set up an email address for DIY posts. Please DO NOT send them to any other email address except for this one. DIY [dot] inspired [at] gmail [dot] com.

2. Simply attach clear DIY (do it yourself, as opposed to hiring someone else or buying something ready made!) photos (please make them 500 pixels wide) and send your DIY tips in article form within the body of the email. You can give me a link to your blog or site if you want to. I will give you credit and link back.

Posts can funny or serious in tone, whatever is your own natural style. You can send them anytime.

If you have already blogged about your DIY tips (that is fine), give me the permalink(s) directly to where you shared your tips on your own blog and I can find them there to create your guest post. You can send lots of them if you want, there is not a limit.

3. You MUST state in the email that I have permission to share the tips and the photos in your guest post. You will be credited. If your DIY tips are approved, your post will be published in the DIY channel and that channel will be linked from my main blog. I cannot guarantee I will use every submission or WHEN they will be posted — posts are approved and published at my discretion. These are guest posts and not paid posts at this time.

Posts or ideas don’t have to be magazine worthy, this is all about REAL LIFE DIY. Just keep posts and images in general good quality and taste and please proof read your submission! I don’t have time for a lot of editing! I do reserve the right to make changes to the post if necessary to fit the style of the DIY channel.

So, go ahead and send in your posts or links anytime! New posts will be added regularly and many ideas will be highlighted and linked to from time to time on The Inspired Room!

Be sure to check the DIY pages regularly to see what is new and visit all the amazing DIY bloggers!

And for a weekly list of inspiring links to DIY posts be sure to check out Kimba’s DIY day on her blog at a new address A Soft Place!
