Grain Sack Ornaments & Stockings

I saw these ADORABLE German grain sack ornaments and stockings over at 3 Fine Grains’ Facebook page. I.am.smitten. I really want those starfish. Aren’t they adorable?

I love that they are the real deal too, real authentic German grain sack ornaments! You might remember that 3 Fine Grains is the company that made my stork pillow, and another new pillow I have yet to show you! Kymberley does a beautiful job, everything she creates is high quality, lovely and inspiring.

hello melissa! and yes — taking on new projects as we speak — repainting walls, hanging new artwork, and another project that involves gold-leaf and high gloss white paint…

    happy, happy christmas to you!

The day before Thanksgiving I recieved a visit from the “bank”… the man said that my Land Lord whom I have been leasing and paying payments to for 3 years decided 10 months ago to stop paying the mortgage… I am moving the week before Christmas!

:) well…. i guess thats a good excuse to not break out the Christmas decor this year huh? :) Heck I am always up for a new adventure.

I will just have to admire yours and pretend…

    Thanks always for the inspiration.

These are beautiful! They fit right in with my desire for more natural tones and materials. If only I could justify buying all new Christmas decorations each year.

Those decorations make me want to get the sewing machine out and make a bunch! Of course, since I already am in the middle of scraping wallpaper off my girls’ bedroom (which REALLY should have waited until after the holidays!) I better not start another project. But file it away and maybe in July when I have a minute, I’ll start early for next year!

I saw those ornaments and stockings too *swoon*. And no, you are certainly not alone in beginning projects as the holidays are upon us! I just repainted my familyroom :) I think getting all the pretties out motivates us to get done those projects we’ve been putting off. And having a blog helps too….gives you an audience!

Yes! For some reason I am actually thinking of taking picture frames apart and painting them, starting slipcovers, etc. This makes no sense when there are so many other things that need to be done. Ugh.

Um, YES!! I have my husband looking at desks for the guest room- he’s like really Gina, this can’t wait? But I think at a time we know our house is going to be filled with lots of friends and family we want to get those things done- instead of saying, well, I’m going to do this….

Love them. I made my son a burlap stocking this week and it’s pretty cute, considering I made it. Ha.

I would love to link up one of the many holiday things i’ve blogged this week but my blog is dead. Woe is me.

    Happy painting, Melissa!

Thanks for sharing those ornaments! I think I just might make some…of course they’ll be made of dropcloth, and not authentic antique grain sacks…but the look will be similar!

You are so funny about having to restrain yourself from painting. Same exact thing here… I have decided to turn my living room into an art studio since I have 2 dens (well, I actually decided a long time ago). But I have been so busy with artwork that I haven’t had time to do it. I bought the paint 2 months ago; it is sitting in my basement. I still haven’t put up my favorite Christmas tree which goes in that room because I thought we would paint first. I may as well realize it’s not going to happen before Christmas… sigh …too many commissioned pieces to complete. So, I told hubby this morning to go ahead and put up the tree that goes there. :) It’s a good news/bad news situation, but now I am looking at the first of the year to paint and move into my new studio…

    Blessings,
    Christi

Those stockings are sheer perfection! I went and joined (or followed, or became a fan of, or whatever the correct terminology is) the 3 Fine Grains FB page. Absolutely gorgeous items! Thanks for sharing. I won’t be decorating for Christmas this year…simply no time, and with my little condo so unfinished, there’s really no room. I’m enjoying seeing other people’s decorations!! I’ll have to live vicariously this season.

Absolutely, but I sometimes get frustrated when ALL the projects don’t get done. I’m working on just letting it go sometimes. Our guests are mostly family, and they love us regardless.
