White dishes, jars filled with natural elements and I think I need 2 wicker chairs for my family room. Your first picture, from Pottery Barn is one of my favorites. In fact, I bought some of that paint color to try out for my house. Thanks for all the inspiration.

Yeah, I’m all about vintage farmhouse right now….unfortunately my house doesn’t come close to meeting the criteria of one. I try to add bits of farmhouse simplicity, though.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Where is the pillow from, could you email me and tell me, my daughter is head over heels for it. If we can’t find it I’ll have to make it, she is determined. Thanks, I love this whole post. I am feeling the same way, I want a cozy, light filled, lived in look.

Best post ever! Seriously, you read my mind. I’ve seen a lot of the pictures before but I’m actually stuck on that first one. I LOVE that photo display and I think I’m just going to have to copy it on a smaller scale. Definitely bookmarking this one.

Im agreeing with all of you.

Lately for me its all WHITE white and a lil white ;)

I recently moved into a condo — cant paint- so I am working around a new scheme for me. Strong taupe/ green — so anything to brighten the dark is what I am doing.

As I started putting up all my old pictures/ paintings — I decided that I need to break out MY work — so taking a jump off the cliff to print my own work is my next step.

    Have the best week.

I think I love the same 10 things you love. Plus, adding a few little romantic touches, like adding linens with a edging, candles, set of “vintage” glassware, embroidered/french knot anything etc…
I am feeling a little inspiration coming on. I better go see what I have first – reduce, reuse, recycle :)
    Have a blessed day!

I so agree. I gravitated originally to this style because it’s easy to duplicate on a newlyweds’ budget – but have kept it because it soothes my soul. Vintage silver, ironstone, pine can blend well with cyrstal, silverplate and quilts. I don’t want to live in museum. i want to live in a home.

I love the first picture. Coastal cottage–great!

Currently, I’m loving somethings that aren’t in great demand. some are things that I have loved for a while, others are new.

I love love love love love anything grey and white. I’m in search of grey & white striped sheets or grey and white damask sheets. Where are you? Also, in search of the perfect almost-raspberry-a-little-bit-mauve towels to go in my grey guest bathroom.
My other favorite color is lavender, but finding things that aren’t too “little girl” is a feat.

If you find any inspirations, please let me know. I’m desperate!

And of course, birds, chandeliers, sparkly, simplicty, white and black.

Mmmmm, I love farmhouse style because of its ease, collected look, the natural elements. Lately I’m loving pinecones everywhere, candlelight, neutral rooms with splashes of color, fat pillows, creating nooks for reading, throws and texture. A silver pitcher on a wicker charger, a black French wire bread basket, ironed white dishtowels with a red stripe, lots of family photographs. . .love it.

I’m loving all these as well! I have such a problem – I love sort of rustic decor like what you have shown here but I also really love tailored, sleek, and feminine design such as vintage pieces painted a really bold color or refinished with silver leaf. Thankfully I don’t have a house of my own yet because then I would have to commit!

It certainly is a big trend as pottery barn seems to have embraced it to a T. I was actually quite surprised when I walked into their store to see the new offerings, to my eye it was quite a shift from the look presented the prior season. Makes me want to own a country house!

Great minds think alike! You are the first person to use the same verbage when refering to a “style”. I have always said that my style was “Vintage, Coastal, Farmhouse Cottage”. I love everything in your site, and can picture it in my home..in fact, I chuckled when I saw some of your favorite Pottery Barn items. I would have chosen the exact same things. So thanks for sharing your passion for all things Coastal, Cottage and Farmhouse.

    Blessings,
