A reader of The Inspired Room, Jessica, sent me these photos of her staircase. The stairs at her new house were in bad shape, but a coat of black paint brought them back to life and looking classy again!
Thanks Jessica!

Our home in Vermont is oak wood everywhere! So bland. Although I would probably not paint the steps, the black and white railing is a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! What a difference a little paint can make!
We are redoing an old house where the ‘wood’ trim was all kept…shhh, this is sacred…’natural’.
ACK! Can’t wait to get the paint slicked on over it so it too will look refined, tailored, clean, and ready for being the ‘welcoming home’ it was always meant to be.
House ‘bones’ are great, but not if you don’t know how to keep the ‘skin’ over them beautiful too!
Gorgeous job Jessica!:)
Hang in there Melissa, our homes are ‘works-in-progress’ (just like the rest of our lives), you are getting there!
