Drive By: Inspired by Two of My Favorites

I drove down to Portland for a couple of days and was able to lean out my window and snap a couple of photos of two of my favorite houses as I drove by! I loved being in my old stomping grounds in Lake Oswego. I sure miss it there!

Both of these houses I’ve shown before during my drive bys, but I just got some new spring time angles for you. The sun was out and it was so warm and springy. These houses are just so pretty, I can’t get enough of them.

The yellow house is right on the lake in Lake Oswego, right across a little canal from where I lived when I was in high school. I love the picket fence, the blue shutters, the lanterns, the stone walkway and those amazing coral tulips!

This house I’ve showed you before also, but I got a different angle of the open gate. This house is in the First Addition neighborhood just down the street from where we lived when my girls were small. Such fond memories of walking through that neighborhood!

I seriously wanted to get out of the car and poke my head through that gate to show you their porch and front yard. SWOON! It was so cute. In the next photo you can kind of see the Adirondack chairs. Sorry, kids, that was the best I could this time — didn’t have enough time to jump out. Next time I’ll scale the shrubbery for you. I promise.

Oh, those houses are lovely! Makes me think of a fairy tale! I live on a small farm in Upstate New York, so we don’t have as many “charming” houses… but we are happy with the old farmhouse we fixed up!

Such pretty houses. I just love house “window-shopping”! Especially at night, when a little of the inside can be seen through the lit up windows! I love to take an evening walk and yes, I’ll admit it, I’m a bit of a snoop!
That sure is a lovely neighborhood! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hope you have a nice weekend.
Stop by for a visit sometime!

Gorgeous houses! There are a number of lovely houses around where I live but I’ve never been able to summon the courage to take pics of them. I’m scared that the owners might get mad at me for taking pics, and I’m too shy to ring the bell and ask for permission!

Thanks for hosting Melissa and have a sunny weekend!

    Melissa,
I know this area well and these beautiful homes, because I used to live in Beaverton. I miss browsing at Powell’s Books on a rainy weekend afternoon.
Thank you for sharing this inspiration and hosting this fun event!

I can see why you love them so much. I am extremely excited about my own new project. We found a house!!! And every single creative nesting instinct in me it on fire!!! LOL It needs lots of love…especially the outside yard. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty… I am SO inspired today!!

I would love for you to drop by my blog and see the pics of our new house. LOL I am thrilled that I don’t have any swine colored walls but we have our own challenges. :)

I did a walk this week snapping pictures of inspiration. My drive-by pictures are of sweet simple things we all love and enjoy; charming homes, a little garden, a coffee shop with an umbrella out front. Come on by and see my neighborhood in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Spring drive bys are always inspiring! In fact,I think anything that has me feeling like spring is in the air is inspiring these days! Fun new catalogs filled with spring clothes have me inspired to clean out my closets and put away my winter gear! Thanks for hosting! Marija

It’s kind of like playing tag for grownups (tag! you’re it–on my blog this week!). I look forward to perusing old posts so I can catch up to your regular subscribers. Have a great day!

Loved the photo’s. I, too, love to drive by and peek at landscaping and exteriors. I usually take my husband with me for a walk, so that we can sloooooowly walk by and admire everything. And if there is an alley, I will walk down those as well. Often times I am surprised by super cute gardens, and beautiful back yard decks. Very inspiring.
