A White Cottage

Oh how I love a white cottage! Be still my beating heart. I’ve shared several white cottages on this blog, including this lovely and this white farmhouse beauty.

A White Cottage

Oh, how I adore a wrap around porch … DREAMY! Can you imagine sitting out there in the morning with your coffee watching the world go by?

A White Cottage

I am in love with real, authentic, working shutters. And gas lanterns? Nothing like the ambience of a lantern!

A White Cottage

Love the wood front door and the welcoming front porch!

A White Cottage

So much to love about this cottage kitchen…subway tile, wood counters, open shelves, the lighting, farmhouse sink, red barstools? The details are all so charming! I’d love to spend the day in there baking while my blogging friends sat on the barstools sampling treats, laughing and catching up on life!

A White Cottage

A creative concealment! I knew I loved this house. That shutter is hiding an electrical panel!

A White Cottage

Love the simplicity of this room, I adore the red beds!A White Cottage

Sigh! A potting shed! Can you imagine yourself there working in your garden?

Hope this dreamy white cottage has inspired you today as much as it inspires me!

You may not live in anything like this, but it is fun to dream isn’t it?

What a gem. Love the working shutters. One of my requirements if I ever own a house with shutters.

It looks brand spanking new – is it a show house? The details are so well thought out – gas lamps yet! I’d settle for the potting shed…

I don’t usually gravitate to white…but in these cases it is beautiful.

Amazing – I love everything about it! I would get so much baking, gardening, and reading done in that house (once I stopped staring at how beautiful everything is, of course)!

Sigh….SO lovely! My parents just put an offer on a cottage on Guemes Island (I’m guessing YOU know where that is :) I keep begging my mom to let me go thrifting with her to outfit the kitchen, etc….and she’s adamant that she’s going to use the Shabby Chic line from Target :) So, so lovely- thank you for sharing pictures!

Our whole family loves this house. DH loves the wraparound porch. And my daughter said “I hope we can buy that house before someone else does” I had to tell her I don’t think it is for sale and I don’t even know where it is. :)

I really love white cottages/homes. There are some wonderful ones on Martha’s Vineyard, with gardens to die for! Those red beds stole my heart though.

We lived in a white farmhouse with a wraparound porch when I was in middle school. I loved that house and dream of having a place like it. Lots of big rooms, shutters w/ bats behind them (!), nooks and crannies. It was amazing.

Your post had me craving a little deep south landscape inspiration for our new house, so I set out to look up some great traditional neighborhoods I knew would have good landscaping. And what did I find? But your house for sale! It’s 32 Harford in the Hambersham neighborhood in Beaufort, SC. It can be yours for $479,000. http://www.habersham-32harford.com/wfPhotoGallery.aspx

I have to say I don’t care much for the earthy Tuscan colors in the family room – they seem quite out of place to me for the sunny Carolina coast. The staging also feels exceptionally, badly artificial to me. (“Oh yes, let me place my straw purse just so here at the foot of the bed beside this faux fern. I’ll be along in just a minute!”)

We are on the same bloggy wavelength… only you’re so good, you keep beating me to it! First, patios and now white cottages. Two half-way written posts I’ll have to scrap!
Love this house! Lots of ideas I could incorporate into my own little (stuccobox) cottage.

I do have a white cottage and have thought about painting it a color but alway go back to liking the simplicity of the white – coming up with a color I will LOVE for awhile seems unrealistic for me! It seems for me, I never tire of simple, clean white – on anything! Love these images!

Love, love love that house. Great idea to use the shutter to conceal that electrical panel, which they seem to put in the middle of a really great wall, everytime! By the way, my white slipcovers got started today. I can hardly wait for them to be finished. Thank you for your insight into them for me:)
