31 Days of Autumn Bliss {Day 25}: A Touch of Autumn Craftiness

I do some pretty impressive craft projects around here. And if you believe that statement, let me welcome you to The Inspired Room.

I am not crafty.

But  I do like to make simple seasonal garland because they are not overwhelming or expensive at all to put together. They are fun to make with kids as a tradition each season.

And garland makes you feel like you are crafty, even when you aren’t.

I used to be craftier than I am now. I would love to try making your garland though. So pretty!

Such a sweet simple garland and it could be done after a “nature walk” with your kids. Always nice to encourage the crafty bug at an early age.

I’m a little bit crafty…, small projects that can be done in a couple of hours! I feature more crafts done by other people! Your garland is lovely.

I am craftier now than I used to be… but that is mostly from seeing all the great inspiration out in blog land! I do a lot of wreaths for seasonal decorating but I think this Christmas I may expand and make some more “home” items.

Oh, so not crafty! (Creative, but not crafty.) I like the garland idea a lot. I can think of several ways to use this with my kids. You’ve inspired me! :) ~K

I don’t consider myself crafty, in any sense of the word. I am able to pull off some projects from time to time, but not on a continuous basis as a true crafty person would!!

Cute garland. I’m not super crafty, but I’m good at copying others’ good ideas!

I love the garland! I am into simple these days. I am a crafty person, but don’t seem to have the time I used to to get it all done.

I love the simplicity of your garland. I’ve been trying something similar with felt. I find my craftiness tends to correlate with my finances. Less $ to spend = greater need to be crafty (or at least creative), and hopefully, wiser.

No, I’m not a particularly crafty person; I just pretend to be; I genuinely want to be; I suppose I should practice. Your garland is delightful and is sparking an idea or two or three. I still remember your cookie cutter garland fondly and used the idea again last year at Christmas time. I’ll probably do it again this. I should also work on making my gingerbread garland before it is crunch time.

I do okay when it comes to crafts….but don’t do them very often…maybe around this time of year. Like how yours turned out.
    Fun.

Not crafty. At. All. I do look at what someone crafty has created and think, “I can do that.” Does that count?

My husband is the crafty one but uses power tools for his crafts.

    Hi Meslissa-

How can you say you are not crafty? The garland is perfect in my book – simple, original, and very autumn-like.

Oh, how I wish I was crafty. I used to be when my children were young. But since they’ve grown and moved away from home, I stopped doing things and my ideas just kind of dried up or my few attempts looked really feeble. Your garland is absolutely charming!

Thanks for the inspiration!! My family and I went hiking this weekend in the Catoctin mountains – and our two small girls came home with bags of beatiful colored fall leaves. I took tons of great photos of them on this hike along with the last shot of them buried in leaves in our front yard. Today I made a collage of the pics on an 8x 10 from a layout at the CVS. My plan is to turn this into Fall placemats. I’ll have the girls place the colored leaves all around the outside boarder of the 8×10 and then have it laminated. I am really enjoying your blog!
