Even though my 31 Days of Autumn Bliss is over doesn’t mean celebrating the season is over! There is always a new season to embrace! It is time to transition to Thanksgiving and the holidays! It is November! Yay!
So to kick off the Thanksgiving season here in the U.S., I’m excited to announce I will be guest judging over at The CSI Project this week! Now if you haven’t yet discovered this gem on the internet, let me tell you it is FUN! They post a creative challenge on a specific theme to readers each week. You have the first part of the week to create and link up a post on that theme. This week’s theme is Thanksgiving!
Need some inspiration for the upcoming Thanksgiving season? Me too! It is super rainy and gray around the NW this morning — so I’m curled up on the sofa with my coffee getting pumped up with ideas. It could be a long gray season around here but with fun inspiration and projects, I’m looking forward to it.
Thankful Garland
As I’ve mentioned. I love making simple garland for each season. When I saw Jen from Tatertots and Jello and The CSI Project’s Thankful garland, I was totally smitten. I love it. It is way fancier than I have attempted before but it is so stinkin’ adorable I might risk trying it. She has a garland tutorial here.
Note: These photos are Jen’s, not mine. But I will be copying her ideas because I love them.
Even more precious is that you can let the kids write what they are thankful for on the leaves! How adorable is that?
Chalkboard Chargers
And her chalkboard chargers, goodness! I love. My head started swirling with ideas when I saw them! Year round fun. Jen shares the how-to for the chalkboard chargers right here.
Now if these two projects don’t inspire you ladies for Thanksgiving, I don’t know what will!
I hope some of you will participate this week in The CSI Project! Head on over right now, look around, and see what this is all about!
I really dig “thankful leaves”, what a cute idea!
Thanks Melissa!
Oh I love the Thankful Garland idea! Thanks for sharing!!
What a cute idea, hopefully our latest project will be complete by Thanksgiving and I will be able to decorate with some of these.
Melissa,
Congratulations on completing a post every day of October—they were such great posts and inspired projects for this season.
I love the chalkboard chargers—may have to copy that idea. Thank you and tatertots and jello.
Karen
Omgoodness…I love both of those ideas! The garland is so creative, and what a great way to involve the kids. And, I LOVE chalkboard paint. Heading over to Jen’s to check out the tutorials.
I luv Tattertots & Jello and I missed this post last week…behind on my reading ;) and I just love the chalkboard painted chargers…cool beans! Have a great day, fondly, Roberta
What a beautiful idea!!!! I can’t wait to get my little girls stuck in on making a garland with me.
Hi,
That garland is really darling, I love it. But our Thanksgiving is long gone and I’m already thinking about Christmas, so I’m waiting for those bits of inspiration to start popping up on the internet!
Hugs, Cindy
I love the Thankful Garland! What a great idea!!
I love the garland! We’re definitely going to do that!
Can you believe the rain today? It has been going non-stop since about 9pm last night! Thank goodness yesterday was dry! Lucky kids!! :)
The garland is adorable! Definitely on the To-Do list! Thanks for sharing!

I’m so happy you’re doing posts on Thanksgiving! I feel like everyone else is skipping over Thanksgiving and going right to Christmas ideas. So thank YOU for remembering my favorite holiday!
Hi Melissa! I enjoyed your 31 days posts! And I’m so excited that I get to link up this time to the CSI project.
Its been upper 80s to 90s here in Arizona…so getting in the Thanksgiving mood is hard for me. BUT, that being said, I’m so happy to take down the Halloween decor…I can’t wait to replace it with beautiful fall colors.
Love the garland idea! Kind of like a gratitude journal made into home decor. :-)
I may have to make the garland my christmas decor in the house, I am pooped after halloween, but these ideas have got my brain going again. Chalkboard chargers would make a great new years set up too, there I go again with future holidays…
I LOVE< LOVE LOVE the chalk board chargers!!! Went over and put the tutorial in my favs so I can definitely do this!!!!
oooh! Thanks for sharing these two great projects. I love the garland idea. That would be a blessing year after year.
And the chargers: great too!
Love the garland! We do a Thankful Turkey. You can check him out here…..

Have a great week!
Of course you’re off to the races with the next thing. Never doubted it for a minute. Love the garland idea and that kids can get involved with it, too. Besides, it is very pretty. I’m not up to any projects this week unless one calls the real life stuff…feeding a grandmother and taking a mom for tests projects. That’s why I love to have other things to think about.
Melissa, I’ve enjoyed your blog for so long. Just love it. Your posts over the last month have been inspirational. Thanks so much.I don’t know if you realize it, but there was a political ad for a Missouri senate race at the end of your blog post today.
Oh how I love these ideas!!! I can’t wait to try them!!!!!! Thanks!! :)
the thankful garland is gorgeous! thanks for sharing
Fantastic ideas!! Thank you for sharing. As always, I enjoyed your blog. :)
I’m glad you are still here! I would be in 31 Days of Funk after all those amazing posts!!
Great ideas, I’m totally copying the chalkboard chargers.
I love the chalkboard charger idea. Now I’m going to be on a hunt for cheap chargers to paint!
The chargers are my favorite! That is so cool! And you could use them for different holidays too. Fun!
I love the garland idea, we don’t do thanksgiving over here in Ireland (except for those who are from the States of course), however I think the garland would be lovely later in the year at that other family festival, which shall remain nameless for the month of November :)
The thankful garland is wonderful! Thanks for sharing the idea. Here’s a project I’ve recently finished:

Love the chargers. Not sure I want to spray my gold/silver ones though … Garland is cool, too! Miss you – after 31 straight days. LOL.
What great ideas!
I loved the garland so much that I made one of my own! Thanks so much for passing the idea along to all of us!
