Organized Simplicity {and a giveaway}

It seems a lot of us are craving a more simple, more organized, less chaotic life. And during the holidays, we can feel more pressure than ever. I can tell you without a doubt, I’m definitely on a mission right now to find a sense of order and simplicity in my own home and life. I’m not putting this off until “after the holidays.”

The past two years have been really busy for me (let me repeat for impact: it has been REALLY busy) and honestly, really exhausting in many ways. I’m ready to slow down a bit and feel “settled” for awhile. Please? I’ll admit it, I’m tired and ready to get my life organized again.

Moving, starting a church, running a business, jetting back and forth across the country four times, being a mom, having a life threatening surgery and a whole bunch of other stuff in between all of that — wow, I think I’m ready for a little nap under my covers for the winter. I wish humans were like bears. Bears are smart.

But since hibernating isn’t actually possible for me, I need to find ways to create more order and peace in my life instead of just wishing the chaos away. I love my life, don’t get me wrong! But it hasn’t been exactly what I would call “organized or simple” lately.  And many people have far more stressful things going on in their life than I do so I know this is a struggle many of us face in our own ways.

So is it possible to make changes to help us manage our own life better and actually feel a sense of order and simplicity, in spite of what swirls around us?

Organized Simplicity {and a giveaway}

Tsh (aka Simplemom) to the rescue!!

{isn’t she cute?}

Tsh from Simplemom is the one lady I have full confidence in to always be ready with the calm reassurance and advice on home management I can trust.  She has written a new book called Organized Simplicity — it has really opened my eyes to ways I need to adjust my thinking, home, habits and lifestyle. Life isn’t always something we can control, but we certainly can manage our homes and lives in a way that doesn’t add to or contribute unnecessary chaos and stress.

Organized Simplicity {and a giveaway}

Tsh breaks Organized Simplicity down into two manageable sections (she is awesome like that):

Part One: Living Simply in the Real World. She gets it. Most of us have to live in the real world and need down to earth, practical attainable advice. And I loved this section because it got me THINKING!

And then Part Two: Ten Days to a Simpler, More Organized Home. YES. I can do that. In fact, I was so inspired by Organized Simplicity that I already cleaned out my dresser and have started reorganizing my closet. Her methods are working already. I’m ready to have less, simplify and feel more calm!!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!

Organized Simplicity {and a giveaway}Happy news … Tsh is offering a surprise giveaway today! She is giving away FOUR copies of Organized Simplicity! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to us!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post letting me know why you would like to win this book! Easy! Four people will win! You have until Saturday at 12 midnight ET to enter!

  10. Melissa

I would love to win this book. I believe it would help me balance the craziness in my life. Sometimes between family, friends, my work,my husband’s business, my side business and maintaining our property I feel a bit overwhelmed. I love and appreciate my life but definitely understand the urge to hibernate.

  11. Suzanne

I would love to win this, just because I want to be more organized…..purge, clean, organize and breathe……my mantra for 2011~
    Suzanne

  12. Bri

Like you and so many others, I could use a little hibernation in my life. Barring that, some simplicity would go a long way toward making my home a more serene place to be. Thanks!

  13. Fiona's Mosaic

SIGN ME UP!! I need this! Like you I am in ministry, and it demands long days sometimes. But I am also a mom, wife, and running two businesses. I was never taught how to be organized…and it wasn’t a natural gifting. I have learned so much, but I could always improve. And I need a good dose of inspiration every so often.

  14. Wendy J

I have four small children and am constantly trying to simplify and de-clutter! Help!! ;) Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. Melanie

I am definitely in need of some more organization and simplicity in my life right now! I would love to win this book!

  16. Sara

I’d LOVE a copy! I got married and bought a house this year (not in that order, actually), and to say it has been a stressful year would be an understatement. I have a LOT to be thankful for this holiday season.

  17. Dana

I wouldn’t just like to win this book, I need to win this book! My husband and I both work full time, and when we’re not working, we spend too much time picking up around the house. I would rather live in a full-time state of peace and love of my home!

  18. Courtney

Wow, it sounds like I could really use this book. My theme this year for the holidays is “simplify”. For me, I’ve always been a little over-the-top for the holidays, but am really feeling the need to slow down and simplify everything. I am trying to organize my life and my home and just settle down!

  19. Amanda

We are in a current state of overhaul–trying to make due and am trying to reorganize and simplify (aka throw/give things away we no longer use nor need cluttering our home).

I would LOVE a copy of this book!

  20. Eric

Right now I could use a map and a lifeline!

In a few days I have to launch a design blog and then maintain it. I live in an old house and have not finished a single room. I am an artist and an entrepreneur (which is code for a dreamer and a procrastinator)

But most importantly I owe it to my wife to create a calm and workable home for us to share our lives. For her sake, please consider my plea!

  21. Bethany

Why do I want this book? Probably bc my home looks like a frat house most of the time, and Tsh makes these small steps attainable. Got to get this place in order before my kid is old enough to know better! I already have Spring Cleaning for Normal People, and she just plain rocks.

  22. Lynn from For Love or Funny

I can ALWAYS use some inspiration to get organized. It seems that I start, but I never finish…

  23. lcdenley

After moving around 5 times in the past two years.. we are finally settling! Building a new home is a fresh start, and I’m planning on getting organized..and clutter free . this would help out so much!

  24. Dana

If you could see my closet, you’d know why I’d love to win this book!

  25. Brittney

I am saving up my money to buy this book (pathetic, I know, but we are poor grad. students with a family)! We live under 600 sq. ft. (the 4 of us) and I could really use some sort of guide to help with the organization.

  26. Janene

I really need to get organized! With 4 small children (my oldest just turned 5) I am looking for ways to get my act together asap and start enjoying life instead of running around always waiting for the next surprise thing I forgot to do or that needs done. :)

Basically – I need all the help I can get!

  27. Melissa

I could definitely use some organization direction in my life!

  46. Julie

Hi! I am always looking for a way to simplify my life. I have a 14 year old girl with severe arthritis and a husband with Crohns disease. I don’t have much extra time in my life. I want to feel more at ease and relaxed when I do have time to myself instead of worrying about my house. This sounds like an awesome book! I love books like this. I am a big believer in trying new things when something isn’t going smoothly. Good luck with the book sales! Julie

  47. jackie

I would love to win one of these. I have started the process, but it has been a little overwhelming. I am longing for simplicity and realizing that some habits make it anything but simple. I could sure use helpful advice from her book that would keep me headed in the right direction. Jackie

  48. Erin

I would love to win this book – with going back to work full time, having a one-year-old, having a 2-hour commute each day, I need to figure out a way to simplify!!

I would love to win a copy! I think I would like to study it with my husband, so we could work together for this lifestyle.

  51. Carla Mayfield

I think I had this book in my hands at the store and then put it back because we were spending so much money on the house that day. (Is it in stores?) I’d love to have this book because I never, ever feel caught up or in control. I don’t pine for a Martha Stewart type house, I pine for just feeling like I’m taking care of my family, meeting their needs, and providing a home they can be proud of.

  52. Erica W.

who doesn’t need this book! I need it bad! new house, new problems

  53. Kourtney

    Please, please, please???

Our home flooded August 31st after being back for just a few weeks after a 7 month long ccoss country move and back to work with a hospital in Colorado for middle son’s serious health issues. (This isn’t a joke!)

We have had a forced remodel of most of our home (thank you USAA and Jesus for taking SUCH good care of us…)!

I don’t want to return to life pre-flood. Simplicity is the name of the season!!!

  54. Johnna

    he is with my “stuff!”
    Happy Thanksgiving and Many thanks!
    Cindi

I’d love to read what she has to say because it really does start with our thinking and our attitudes and it sounds like she does a great job with that. And then practical, small steps. Who couldn’t use that?

  75. Sherri

Like many others, we were hit by the recession and had to downsize to a much smaller house! I have always tried to live by the adage “a place for everything and everything in its’ place”, but I CAN’T find a PLACE in this house! It seems like everywhere I turn I see “stuff”, but it’s stuff I/we love and still use and had a place for it in our previous home! I would love to get this book and hopefully, discover some new ways to organize and to turn this house into a home!

  94. kat

I adore books on organization and this book looks fabulous! I can always use any helpful tips I can get for running a smooth household with little ones running around.

  95. Kara

I have always been a slightly disorganized person who craves more organization in my life. I have three active children, a husband who works seven days a week, and a house that seems much too small for us (mainly due to the amount of “stuff” that we own). Having a cluttered home gives me the feeling of being constantly overwhelmed, and it definitely cuts into “me time” because I’m always trying to keep up with a disorganized house! Just this weekend I began trying to claim back parts of the house, starting with my dresser. It took a while, but I felt so much lighter finally being able to find all of my winter clothing in all the right drawers. That newfound feeling is giving me incentive to keep moving throughout the entire house. I would love the book to help me along the way!!!! I’m on a mission now… :-)

  96. Barbara

I’m one who “gets it,” but then forgets “it.” Your description of the book make it sound so peaceful, comfortable and doable. I would love to win.

    • Barbara

      Please change make to makes.

I want to finally organize my house that I moved into 8 years ago!! Love SimpleMom!

  99. Judy

Why do I want/NEED a copy of Organized Simplicity? Simply because I am the most unorganized person I’ve ever known. One could find the can opener in any one of my kitchen or pantry doors!
When I decide I want to get organized, I am so overwhelmed by the disorganization, I just stop. Is there help for me? Maybe this is it.

  100. Faith A

I would absolutely love to win this book as I feel it would help me along in my very new journey to sanity! :-) Seriously, I think it would be an excellent tool and it looks wonderful.

  101. Tracey

She is adorable and I would love a copy of her book! Thank you for the giveaway.

  102. Sarah

We recently moved back to the USA after living abroad for 7 years. We returned to our previous home, so we have lots of new stuff and old stuff to sort through. We left with 4 children and returned with 9 (adopted 3 and gave birth to 2) so that adds a great deal of stuff and takes up a lot more room! I’m struggling to find ways to organize for that many people in a simple way that still looks appealing. I would LOVE this book!

  103. Anna

I am currently living with my in-laws and we have most of our things in storage. I have learned to live with less, and plan to purge lots when I unpack in our next home. I have been eyeing this book, and I would LOVE to win it!

  104. Lisa

Hoping someone from Australia can enter the giveaway?? I have been seeing this book on lots of the blogs I read and it sounds exactly like the sort of inspiration I need – 5 children, one income and a stay at home mum trying to keep life simple and fun:)

  105. Deb

    This book looks fabulous!!!

  106. Robin

I, too, am feeling overwhelmed at the moment by the clutter that is a part of daily life around here. This is a pattern with me–get overwhelmed, get way behind in everything, and then panic and make drastic reforms that I can’t sustain, only to repeat the process again. I would love to get some help in breaking this exhausting and pointless cycle! Thanks for this very timely giveaway!

  107. Jessie

Just the title sounds soothing. I would love to get my house and life organized to maintain some peace and sanity.

  108. Lesley

Would love to win this book–it would be wonderful to feel that everything in the house is organized and even better if I could learn a system to keep it that way!

  109. Carrie

I would love to win because I need organization back in my life! It has been a rough year and a half for me. August 13th 2009 my grandmother lost her battle with leukemia. My mom led the task of cleaning out her house and I was right by her side to get it ready for sale. Sadly and unexpectedly, she found out at the end of February 2010 that she herself had stage 4 cancer and passed away that April 13th. She was my best friend and played an important part in my everyday life. She helped to keep me grounded, focused on the important things in life, and always gave me great ideas for organization. I lost that when she left but I am finally ready to get back to my old self where my house and life do not constantly leave me so overwhelmed. I am ready for a new year, a new me and new beginning!

  110. Christy

This book would be such a big help right now. Having just got married in the last two months, combining two households has been a chore in itself, let alone making it simple and stress free!

  115. Melodye

Thank you, Tsh, for your generosity in offering 4 books as prizes for this give-away. Boy, could I use a copy of my own! I’d love to free up some cluttered space in my home…and to create a zen-like atmosphere in which to live and work.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Melissa!

  136. alison

I took the fast train to simplicity this past June when an arsonist set my home on fire. My husband and I, our three kids, the family dog and a fledgling sparrow my daughter rescued the day before, all escaped.

I had been on the slow train to simplicity my whole life, but it was picking up speed the six months before the fire. I went room by room de-cluttering and re-organizing with the help of a good an gifted friend. As I watched the flames reach and consume the second story of our home, (one very large room, with storage in the eaves which had been our latest project) I realized I was so relieved it was clean.

While we rebuild, our family is living in an ugly little house which is filled with furniture our insurance company rented for us. We lost almost everything but I find I am reluctant to replace anything other than clothes and books. One reason is pragmatic as we wait for all the insurance to be paid, but another is, now that I have gotten out of the habit of things, I want to carefully acquire new ones. I would love Tsh’s book to read and consult as we rebuild our home and our lives.

  137. julienne

This would be perfect for my mom.. My room is somewhat organized.. somewhat because I’m not the only one who uses it.. It would help if the entire family would start organizing too.

I would love this book because I used to be a home goddess – I always had projects going, ideas brewing, and time to just browse all my favorite shops. The last several years have been challenging with my younger son and just in September he was placed on the autism spectrum. My time is committed to him and my home passion has fizzled. I feel as though I am living day to day and think a good ole fashioned house restructure/reorganization could help me function better and have a fresh love for my home.

I crave a simpler and more organized home and this book would be a wonderful start to actually owning that middle name. :)

  242. Nicole

I have been reading your blog for a while and love both your styles. I am inspired by so many great women in the blog world, and organization is something I stive for. Everything has a place, and should be there, mentality. But to live simply is more than that I think and I would love to read the pages of her shared knowledge over and ove at my leisure. Thanks.

  243. Johanna

I saw this word used in previous posts, but I swear I’m not stealing it – I do “crave: organization in my life, and try as I might, I always feel as if I can’t keep up. Now at 40, with a baby about to pop into my life at any given moment through the amazing gift of adoption, I’m afraid I’m about to lose all control. I need this book badly.

  244. mo mack

  256. Courtney

Ok so before I even realized this was a giveaway, I saw the title of the book and went running into the other room to see my mom and tell her I’d found our great white hope! We NEED this book : ) I’m getting married in six months and living with my parents again and none of us are the most organized people in the world (all my extra stuff lying around doesn’t help). What luck that this post turns out to be a giveaway too! I hope we win so there’s at least a little sanity at our house before the wedding! : )

    Overwhelmed and need her HELP

  263. Tammara

Your post rang so true for me. The past 6 months has been me trying to “simplify” my life after a very difficult 3 years… Your list of things you’ve dealt with in the past 2 years was so similar to mine – except my husband I both lost our dads, I had my 3rd son, went back to work, started a business, both changed careers, had some bumps in our relationship, survived a church split… whew. Anyways, still working on the simplification of things, and will take any help I can get – God has been faithful and blessed us superabundantly.

  264. Lisa

Ooooooh, I need this book! I have had the desire to scale back and live a simpler life for quite some time now. After surviving a life threatening illness and open heart surgery along with an 18 month recovery, I have started back to college full time to get the degree I never finished. Life at home has changed to say the least. I no longer want or need all of the “stuff” we have accumulated over 27 years and frankly I don’t know where to start to purge it. A simplistic book to help me along the way would be wonderful, so sign me up. Here’s hoping I win one. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
    Lisa

  265. Loretta

I just moved at the end of June and have downsized into a smaller apartment. I’m trying to pick pieces that I love to decorate and it will take me a long time because of a much smaller budget. Not having the things and space I had before for organizing, I’m left moving piles from place to place and wondering what kind of clever/stylish system I can come up with to not have so much wasted time handling and rehandling papers. Help……….:-)

  266. myrnie

I’d love to win this book! Homeschooling and baby #3 on the way means that organizing often eludes me…

  267. peggy

Having moved after 30 years in Los Angeles all the way to Wilmington, NC, I can say that getting organized was a gargantuan project! I am in the process of organizing my home office and have sorted and sorted and sorted til I am blue in the face. Filing….ugh! I’m certain that “Organized Simplicity” is where my life is destined to be….please do consider me! I am thankful this Thanksgiving that Tsh is here!!!

Boy do I need this book and any assistance it can offer. I am a homeschoolin’ momma to five kids under the age of 9. Two of my children are medically-fragile. We adopted our youngest last year who has recently been diagnosed with autism along with her physical disabilities. Life has gotten so very busy with dr appt, therapies, etc. I just want my home to be a place of simplicity and peace. A haven for all who enter.

  353. Vicky

Just last night I sent my husband and son to the wrong side of town to the wrong gym at the wrong time for his basketball practice! Three busy kids make it challenging to keep things going smoothly, much less have dinner.

  354. Amanda W

I would love to be more organized, I think it would save me time and money… so basically it might add some sanity to things… maybe?

  355. Beth

I would love to win a copy of this book! My family of 3, soon to be 4, is in a very transitional time right now. I would love to learn more about how to make our temporary residence (as well as a more permanent one in the future) much more simplified and feel like home!

  356. Micha

I live with 2 clutterbugs who are probably related to moles: if you ask them, everything is best arranged in piles. With our upcoming move into a new home I really really could use some advice and support to make our lives simpler and more organized. Help :o)

  359. Sandy K

This looks like a wonderful book and exactly what I’m needing about now!f Thanks for a chance to win!

  360. Andrea

Why I would like an organizational book….
I am expecting baby number three any day now! (Due Nov 30). I have two other boys Liam who is 4 and Jack who is 2. My baby sister is having twins in January! A Boy and a Girl. My life is filled with chaos and any help would be wonderful!

  361. Barbara Schwenk

This has been a very stressful year for me to say the least. However, I truly believe that God answers prayers through adversities ( I really do, ) you’ve just got to find the blessings. One of the things that I’ve started to do is declutter, dehoard (I know I am just a Goodwill treasure find away from being on the show hoarders – hehe) and simplify my life. I have a long way to go but the pressure seems to come off one cleanout at a time. To me each time I clean-out, declutter and simplify I am dusting myself off from my year of stress – who knows maybe w/the help of this book I’ll be ready to get back in the saddle and ride. :) Thank you for hosting this for whoever wins. xoxo

  362. Monica Bowles

I love other people’s ideas for organization and reducing clutter!

  363. Joy Cooper

4 moves in 5 years, 2 cross country and we have finally landed. I could use some help organizing. What was that anyway….oh well move forward !!!!

  364. Tammy aka

Firing our Realtor, looking for a new one. Two high schoolers, two dogs. Two working parents, too many decisions. Why? We just found out where the military is sending us in less than 90 days: completely across the continent. I can’t imagine a better prize for my life right now than this book.

  365. Judy

I’m a frustrated organizer…I. need. help. I long to live simply. Long for it!

  366. Denay

My family just moved into a new, bigger home. My husband, daughter and I are not the most organized…but would like to be (at least I would.) I would love to set up our new home to be more organized and simple and peaceful. We have a new baby on the way in two months so I have a little time to set up our new simple home before she arrives.

  367. Pam Minor

o.k. Lots of people who would love to win, including me. We are actually in the process of foreclosure and eviction. yep. But still I feel o.k. about it. Unfortunately, hubby is working in another state so we can get back on our feet and we are moving into a one bedroom apartment until…well until. I need something to help keep me grounded and focused during this transitional time in our life. I’ll bet there’s something in this book about this. Between packing for storage, what to sell, what to keep, what to label…I’m like a deer in the headlights…just don’t know where to turn to get started. Thanks.

  368. Michelle

I would love to win this book so that I could give it to my daughter. She had her first baby in August and is balancing a home, a baby and a career as a Hairdresser. This book could really help her, just sayin! Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving! Shelly

  369. gina

Just reading your mention of your dresser and closet I thought, “Mine could really use it”–things keep getting gradually added in the bedroom, period. Sigh. Well, Happy Thanksgiving!

  370. Barbara

Oh me please! The book looks beautifully photographed and I want one! I’ve always felt I was somehow born in the wrong era and have longed to be Caroline Ingalls for as long as I can remember. Less stuff, more quiet. I would miss hot water from the tap though :)

  371. Carol M

My husband and I moved to a downsized house, but though we got rid of a lot of stuff before the move, we still have too much for our new home. I’m tired of feeling weighed down by stuff. I need guidance. I would love to win this book! Thanks for the chance.

  372. Joy Clymer

I have declared 2011 as the year to declutter!! This book would help me to think about the how & why I have too much stuff. I’m determined to create a life that is simple, organized & full of love and memories for my family and friends.

  373. Elizabeth Smith

with the threat of my husband losing his job & many other things, we decided we really need to “get it together.” I think this book could really help us see what’s important in life! These “things” we surround ourselves with really don’t matter!!

  374. Julia Fortenberry

My family is about to move from our trailer into our first home… I don’t want to lose focus & now that I have the “room,” to junk up our lives with useless things!

  375. gina

Wow……could I ever use this book! I always have such great intentions and then……LIFE happens. We have so many “things” we need to clear out and get organized. I’ve attempted to clear out my closet on several occasions recently but then I find something more fun….I need to win. It’ll be the kick in the pants I need!!!

My husband and I are buying a first house, and I can see this book being so helpful in setting it up!

  379. Jane

We’ve just moved to an apartment and I was not prepared to live more simply with less. This book will surely help me work through the overload I have carried into this apartment. Let’s get started now!

  380. Anna G.

Never more than between Thanksgiving & Christmas could we all use a little Organized Simplicity!! Happy Thanksgiving!

  381. Sheri O.

Yes, I ned this book – as the chaos is quickly taking over!

  382. Leslie

I’m all about simplifying these days…I feel a shift in our lives and I want to be streamlined and simplified so that I will be able to respond to change as God leads! Love the little excerpts I’ve glimpsed and I would love to have this book!

  383. Mandy

Let me start with I am a mother of two, I have moved 4 times in 4 years ( military family) and find myself her in Japan trying to figure out life and how to make it more simple. Why do we make it so complicated! So hopefully you can see I need some direction…HELP!
    Sincerely,
    Mandy

  384. Lynn

I would love this book! I always thought of myself as organized, but I think it’s an organized mess more than anything! I always have a pile somewhere and when I don’t know what to do with something, it just sits there…

  385. Jackie

I SO need this book! Would love to learn her techniques.

  386. Gretchen Nelson

The reason I would love to win this book is simple (no pun intended :)!). Just like everyone else I strive for simplicity, to have more time to enjoy life and not have life control me!

    Gretchen

  387. Leah

OH WOW! i’d love to have one of these! thanks for the chance to win!!! we are definitely looking to simplify our lives..but i’m so overwhelmed i don’t know where to begin..i mean, don’t i NEED all of this stuff…that’s what races through my brain everytime i’m close to getting rid of something!!!

  388. Katie99

My soul craves Organized Simplicity! After moving twice in one year I’m on a mission to simplify most everything in my life.

  389. Stephanie

Have mercy on me and send me this book! Although I love him dearly, my hubby comes from a long line of packrats….I’m sure he could trace the packrat-edness through centuries…..and he’s passed the gene or trait or whatever on to our two daughters. You’ll be forever guilty when you find out I’ve drowned in my home…if they ever find my body! Puh-leeze!!!

  390. Sue

Being organized means having more time to do what I’d like to do. Can’t beat that! Thank you.

  391. Beth

I would love to win this book…my husband, *ahem* would LOVE for me to win this book!

  392. rebecca a

My children are now married and in college and I have no idea what to do with all of their stuff…help and time needed. I NEED this book! :)

  393. Jennifer K

Sounds like an awesome book! I love it. Something I think every homemaker could use to get life under control.

  394. Judy Kjorvestad

I would love to win an organizing book! I’d give it to my daughter who is the organizing queen. Her three year old calls her label maker an organizing phone. It was the best gift I have ever given her!

  395. Kim

You know its a sad thing when your 7 year old comes home and says “Mom, why is it so clean here” and I have to say to her “Well, we have people coming over so I have thrown everything into some closet, garage or spare room where we can close the door and hope no one will open it to take a look.” My family hates getting ready for company cause they know it will be a stressful time of preparation (imagine mom pulling her hair out). I hate to ask for help from them because as a mom I think I have to do it all on my own. We enjoy entertaining family & friends, we want our home to be open at all times and for them to come over and enjoy; not be looking around at all our piles of things thinking “Why can’t she clean this up?”. I have a certain family member that I’m sure this is what she thinks cause her mom keeps a spotless house. I work outside the home for the past 4 years, we only have 1 child at home full time now but life seems to still get the better of us. I want all us to appreciate our home and enjoy being in it. I would love to live simply organized all the time. I have fought this for 23 years of marriage, have searched forever for a way to organize my life and enjoy it rather than letting my life run me.

  396. Betty-Jo

Thank you for this wonderful offer! Oh I would love to win this book. I am a homeschooling mom and with a household of 6 including a 78 year old father n law I need some simplicity and organization. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

  397. Kristen

Wow, Melissa, I knew I liked your pretty blog and decorating ideas but now I know we really have a kindred spirit. I am married to a church planter (15 years at this church – hang in there!) I have seen this book advertised on another blog I think and I really need it. We are building a house and I would love to go into it with a better organizational plan. 432. Ann-Marie

We moved this May after 19 years in the same house. Talk about having to simplify! We got rid of tremendous amounts of junk and donated many usable items. The moved allowed us to trim down, but my fervent goal is to keep the new home organized and free of clutter. I would love to read the advice that Tsh generously wishes to share. Also, the fact that she discusses putting our finances in order as well as perspective, is an important reminder as we’re tempted to “go wild” decorating the new house. Thank-you for sharing your knowledge, and wishing you a very blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas!

  433. Christi

I would love to get more organized and streamlined! With 2 littles, the more organized I am, the happier everyone is!

  434. Jennifer

Well, I have just embarked on a whole house reorganization. We have gone from 3 to 6 people living in the house. However, after starting strong, I have stalled a bit. Would love this to kick start the process and give me some direction. Thanks!!

  436. Elizabeth

While I use the name Simply Elizabeth for things I do, there’s nothing simple around me. I crave for organization in my home and life the way women (including me) crave for chocolate during certain times in their lives. I’m Deperate! Help me please!
    Blessing to all, E :)

  437. Laura M.

I love the idea of living simply and try to bring that into my home. I would love to read Tsh’s book! :)

The book sounds wonderful and if I don’t win one, I am going to buy one. I can use anything that works towards greater organization. I just wish I could stop all the PAPER coming into my house. :)

    Have a great one!

  452. Margo

Oh my goodness! I love the simple mom blog… and Tsh is such an inspiration! I would love her book, as a hard copy is so much easier for me to follow than online journals!

  463. Tammy

Hmmm…lets see – I have 4 children – ages 15, 11 and 2 yr old twins. We just relocated 2300 miles away from my home state and downsized in space. I homeschool my oldest and still try to entertain and care for my 2 yr twins in the process. I like my house clean, organized and smelling yummy. If it doesn’t it bothers me (which I am working on that). It just feels I can “breathe” easier when things are organized. I have learned over time that “simple” is the way to go and that being over the top or going overboard just adds unwanted and unneeded stress to my life. I need and crave simplicity now so that I can focus on the important things – making memories with my husband and children, laughing…and just “being”. I would love to win this book as I feel that its a must “need” in my life:) Blessings, Tammy

  464. Pandorasslave

I’ve been borderline insane lately, with trying to purge everything in my household. There is a good chance we will be moving in July, and I need to get rid of all the miscellaneous stuff. And I would like to lead a simpler clutter-free life, because working on one’s Master’s doesn’t exactly leave time for cleaning or purging.

Thanks for the opportunity to win! I think this book will do quite nicely.

  465. Cheree

I recently quit my job and moved to the country for my husband’s job. We are focusing on living more simply (partly because we have no other choice out here), but it has been a tough adjustment. Some things are easier, some are harder. When I worked full time, I found it was fairly easy to organize my life. Now that I work from home, I struggle to maintain order – which is not what I expected.

  466. gretchen

As a mom of 10, I long for simplicity and order! Please let me win!!!

  467. Lauren

I would like to win, because I have been feeling chaotic for awhile now and I can’t seem to get off the roller coaster! It all began 2.5 years ago when my daugher was born. I have struggled ever since trying to figure out how to be a wife, mom and individual – all at the same time. I’ve followed Tsh nearly as long as I’ve struggled – and she has helped me immensely – but I’d love to get the full strength of her experience in her book.

  468. Adrianne

I would love to get this book! Always looking for ways to simplify my life!

  469. Nana K

I need this book! It would be a blessing to win. Not only am I continually looking for new ideas to employ myself, especially since taking on my mother’s care full time now, but I have a son who will marry in February, giving me a wonderful “daughter-in-love”. I would give the book to her if I win. (I know her well enough that she would be excited about this and not affronted or offended.)

  470. Jill

I would love to have this because I feel like I live in organized chaos. I miss things sometimes and I don’t have as much control over my time.

I have 3 kids a dog and a husband who travels for business once a month. We all have too much stuff and it seems to be growing.

I could also use this method to help my clients (spread the simplicity).

    Thanks for a great give-away!

  471. Courtney Henson

I would love to win this book because being organized is never simple for me! I need lots and lots of help with it!

  472. Betsy

I would love to win this. We are preparing our home and lifestyles in order to begin homeschooling at least 2 of our 3 children. I’m sure if we were a little more organized this would be MUCH easier!

  473. Ren

I would love to win this giveaway because I am an organized-freak-of-nature!! =/

  474. Judi/a bit of design

I have a monthly reminder in MS Outlook to reconsider my priorities. I feel that this is very important to do. We can get so caught up in the daily life that we allow certain things to overrun us. This book sounds like a wonderful tool to incorporate into my task!

  475. brianne

I was just planning on cleaning my office today. I need to zen out my work space and my apartment. It’s too messy and makes my brain feel messy. Thanks!

  480. Rhonda

I’d love to win this book. In my crazy mind, organization seems anything but simple. So I need all the help I can get. And her blog is great, so I know her book will be too.

  481. Emily

I’ve been wanting to read this book.. “real world” organization is what I need!

  482. Cameron Stimson

Oh I could use some organization in my life! As a wife, mom – to a 6 month old baby girl and 2 dogs, and full-time grad student, working on our home is sometimes the LAST thing I want to think about!

  483. andrea

Let’s see…mom to five at home, husband battling cancer, school, church and community commitments, being the house where all the neighborhood kids hang out…yes, I think I could definitely use an infusion of simplicity into this life that I love, but which often gets me frazzled.

  484. Daisha

We will be having our 5th child, moving 3,000 miles across the country, and starting my husbands new business all within 4 weeks. I’m needing to getting organized so we don’t all go crazy!

  485. Heather Kirks

I would love to win this book. We all get cluttered with “stuff,” both physically and mentally and I struggle with how to declutter my life all the time. I’m looking for some solutions that are actually attainable, I don’t mind putting a little time into making this happen but it is usually time constraints that get us cluttered in the first place. I’m thinking this will a great gift for friends this year!

  486. Amy

Sounds like a fantastic book! One that will really help me on my current journey to simplicity. We have a 6yo son with autism, which completely changed the way we look at live, and made a huge impact on our deciding to change our lives to a more simple way of living.

  487. Carol Ann

I consider myself a pretty organized person, but there’s always room for improvement!

  488. Kristen

Oh I would love to win a copy because just the title of the book is refreshing. And it’s something I desperately need right now.

  489. sangeetha

I want to simplify my life! Thats why I so want the book!

  491. Rachel Freeman

I could SO use this book! I really try hard to be organized, but have been very overwhelmed since the birth of my twins (#5 and 6). We just moved into a new home and between my other kids schedules and unpacking/organizing….I’m just a little crazy! I would love to have some guidance!

  492. Heather

I have this book in my amazon shopping cart already but free is better!

  493. Kathy

I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. It looks so helpful and down-to-earth!

  494. Mallory

I certainly feel like I could use some organization right now.

  495. TC

In an effort to not miss these last few years with my high schoolers, I have let other things slide. I try to get on top of closets, paperwork, photos, but it seems to be an endless battle. I could use some idea on how to make it manageable, get organized, and stay organized.

  496. Lena L.

This sounds practical and awesome! I too have been thru alot in 2 years, my husband lost his job, we had to move from our brand new home because of the lost income, I had to go back to work after staying at home for year, we moved to a new city and got 2 young kids started in new schools. along with trying to make new friends for us and the kids…….. many times I have cried “calgon take me away!”. anything to help relax, simplify life would help. I work full time, my husband has gone back to school, and we have 2 boys (4 and 5 and 1/2) – so with the kids school, husband school and all the sports!!!! whew, I am tired.
thanks for the blog and great ideas everyday!

  497. Jessica

I would love to stay organized (with all the little cutesy labels and everything!) When it comes to that stuff, I don’t even know where to start!

  498. Dina Marie

I’m in the process of organizing and downsizing in each room in my home. It requires thinking and figuring out of where and to categorize items in each room.

Also, I have been putting some in these recycle, donate, and sell boxes. I have a great motivation to do this project!

Speaking of a book entitled Organized Simplicity, I’d love to read and to help me to achieve my goal to have my home to be completely organized!

Our house has been very chaotic, to say the least, and I am determined to get organized before the arrival of our special blessings. We will be working with a limited budget; thus, I could really use the creative solutions. To have the book would be a true joy for my entire family so that we will be prepared rather than stressed.

I’ve donated 75% of my clothes, ridded myself of 20+ pairs of shoes and sent at least 15 giant trash bags FILLED with stuff to the local thrift shop! But now I am at a cross roads on where to keep going as I have some rooms left, and how to prevent the build up again?! I need real life systems and ideas.

I just haven’t gotten there, yet, and this book is bound to help! :)

I like the rest crave simplicity. I sure could use the inspiration.

    Thank you! for the offer.

  581. Mystica

I desperately need more organization in my life. I work full time, have two children studying in Australia so spend four months of every year there with them, one daughter just married living in my home country. I also run two orphanages one with 35 girls and the
other with 15 girls. Run as in finding funds, things and co ordinating
stuff. I also work with refugee children 35 of them in the northern part of Sri Lanka. The war is over but the problems are immense.
    I need help please!

  582. Jess B

We recently moved from an urban area to a rural area. Our life should be simpler, right? Wrong! We gained a big property with a enough projects to keep us busy for a life time, multiple family members close by and all that entails, and anything convenient is no longer close by (thus…not convenient!). Many blessings for sure, but I am trying to get a handle on it all and the book looks helpful!

I would love to win this book because I am also busy – and it seems like we waste so much time looking for stuff. I want to be more organized and reduce clutter!

  691. Kim Rowland

Would love to win it, because my life seems to be spinning out of control all around me as I watch hopelessly :) Okay a bit dramatic, as I have a wonderful life and family. But organized I am NOT :)

Oh this would be wonderful to have!

I would love to win this book! We are in the process of moving and I feel like I’m up to my eyeballs in craziness and clutter. It would be great to be able to start out my new home in an organized manor.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I would LOVE this book! I was recently diagnosed with adult onset ADD. I have twins who turned TWO last week and a four year old. I have too much stuff – especially kids toys, clothing, etc. I currently have four or five baskets of clean clothing in my bedroom which I haven’t put away… If my house was in order, my mind would be too… Thank you and happy holiday weekend to you! I enjoy your blog so much :-).

This looks like a beautiful book! It’s title are two of my favorite words. Sometimes I think I have a handle on things and other times I feel like I am drowning in disorganization. This looks like wonderful inspiration to stay on track!

I love the concept of this book! Organising can be so overwhelming. I crave a simple and organised life but it seems so difficult to achieve since I can’t put life on pause to make it happen.

  701. Bonnie Jackson

Oh, how I would love to accomplish simplicity in my life. I think this book could help!
