Use what you have!
There is something so cozy about the idea of bringing out the fall and winter quilts and blankets this time of year. It is a ritual at our house. How about yours?
I love that quilts and blankets are not only practical, but if you have pretty ones, they are a lovely way to decorate for the colder season too!
Happy Weekend Everyone!!
If you missed yesterday, day 21 in the Inspired Holidays series, you can find it here!
Need to find a handmade quilt? Check out my sponsor Quiltsy!
Functional I have…attractive I do not. Guess that’s where the trouble begins.
I LUV “airing them out” on the clothesline first…that Autumn scent “ahhhh.” franki
just beautiful. want to curl up & read a good book. comfty. (:
I am like the first commenter. Pretty…not so much. I feel another project coming on.
I adore a stack of quilts, displayed year round. Christmas quilts need not be adorned with reindeer and santa (although those are sweet, too!), but even a quilt done in creams, reds, greens, or a combination is a subtle nod to the season!

It’s about time to pull out our giant guilt covered pillow. Let the annual “Try to Keep the Cats off the Pillow meant for Humans” games begin!
Quilts are really wonderful to decorate with year-round. It’s a nice way to add color and pattern without a huge investment, and easy to change out when you get tired of it!
Love to cuddle up in warm quilts on these chilly nights!
I don’t have any pretty christmas quilts yet, but am looking forward to collecting them over the years!
I have a quilt my grandmother made years ago from scrap fabric. She passed away years ago, but it reminds me of her and brings a smile to my face. I think about how many times her hands touched it.
So where does everyone find their quilts? We’re shopping for one right now, but need it for our king sized bed (the more oversized, the better). So far we’ve had zero luck.
I love quilts! We have one of our son’s baby quilts that has an autumn theme to it pinned to the wall above our loveseat in the living room. Its my favorite thing up in our house this Autumn.
And as for Christmas…I “cheated” and found a Christmasy quilt-like bedspread for our bed in a clearance sale after Christmas last year. Can’t wait to get it out!
Blessings!

I just did a post about pulling out all the quilts and throws during this time of year! I love the cozy feeling they instantly bring!
I’m so glad that quilts are making a comeback. Last month, my youngest yuppy daughter asked me if I had any “real” quilts (family ones hand sown) I would give her. I was thrilled that she finally “gets it” regarding quilts. I took her two!
