After a week of rain, snow, hail AND glorious sun in the NW in this first week of spring, I’m pretty much ready for gardening weather. My goal at some point later this spring is to begin work on my very tiny front yard which is currently basically a muddy patch of soil. I’m so excited about transforming it!

I’m planning on bringing in some gravel for a little pathway through the yard and creating some garden beds to fill with evergreens and creeping plants. Then I’ll finish it off with a bench or place to sit. I think it is a manageable outdoor summer project for me this year.

There is something so rewarding about working on a little patch of ground and turning it in to a pretty garden, don’t you think?

And wouldn’t it be pure bliss if you had a garden shed like the one below? Well, yes it would! I snapped that pic this week while strolling through one of my favorite little garden shops, Ravenna Gardens at University Village in Seattle. I love the copper roof on that shed!

Garden Shed with Copper Roof

To get us in the mood for spring gardening, I had my daughter Courtney put together a collage (above) of some favorite spring gardening items. So much cuteness to behold!

Since it may be a little early perhaps for some of us to actually go outside and garden, maybe you’d like a little inspiration for bringing nature into your home decor or spring fashion to your closet?

Whether you are planning to be inside or outside, I hope you have the perfect spring-like weather for your weekend!

Happy Friday! What are your plans this weekend?
{Our plans for Saturday include staying inside and painting some walls!}

I love Ravenna Gardens! We were at the UVillage on Monday! Did you see the beautiful Tulip tree near William Sonoma? I needed a flower fix after all of the winter weather we’ve been experiencing!
The weekend weather is supposed to be SUNNY! Enjoy, Melissa!

Yes, I did! I wanted to take a picture of it but there was a crowd around it trying to do the same thing :-) LOVELY!! It is so gorgeous right now, hooray!

Cute little gardening shed! I love the watering can in the collage – much too pretty to use outdoors, though!

Great time for this post…I’ve been thinking about converting my “working shed” into a a little outdoor studio. Your copper roof pick is very darling…I’m saving that picture for my inspiration board.

I envy gardeners. I do NOT have a green thumb. I’ve tried and tried and have now blissfully surrendered to the fact that I kill plants. I now put in my impatiens each spring and let my hubby water them all summer.

With the crazy warm weather we’ve been having here in SW Ontario, it’s been gardening season for a couple of weeks. My shed is actually my garage and I would love to have a small shed just for my things. This one would be perfect. Can you beam it over here?

This weekend will be rainy, so it’s time to catch up on all those unfinished projects.

Speaking of gardening, this weekend- girls trip to Houston for the Garden Conservancy Open Days Garden tour. It was 80 degrees here yesterday. I was mowing my meadow and ran out of gas. Gotta gear up for spring. Cute shed.

Sorry you are still having cold weather. Here in Maryland we are having a very early spring! Hope this happens every year! Thanks for your inspiration. Oh, I already grabbed that owl up last week. Early bird catches the worm…

Even though I live in Minnesota, I believe my local nursery has pansies ready to go. I’m going to buy two large pots of them to put in the planters on my front porch. They’ll fit perfectly, and if it gets SUPER cold, I’ll just lift them out and bring them inside. Love it!

I can’t wait to see your outdoor project come together in the coming months. :-) It was around this time last year that I found your blog, and I have visited it daily ever since! Thanks so much for the constant inspiration.

I didn’t know you lived in Seattle. I was there in Feb. visiting my daughter. My best friend and I shopped there, it was a really cute shop! Wish I could have purchased and taken some things home.

Im so beyond ready for this! Being in the midwest now, I feel like I have to wait forever before I can plant and see some color in my yard. But I definitely appreciate it now more than ever. LOVE this collection.

Melissa, I actually wish I could stay home and paint this weekend, but as an owner of a boutique flower shop I almost always have to work on Saturdays. I’m off on Sundays, but after all my church activities there’s little energy to start a project. Would like to spend some time creating at least one piece of wall art though.

Sunny California is supposed to have rain this weekend, but at this very moment all windows and doors are open and fans are circulating nice fresh air. I love it. I am going to go to the garden center and get some plants to spruce up my porch planters, I can do that even in the rain, Happy Spring Weekend to you! Kathysue

I would be happy if I had a great collection of containers to garden in. I was ooohhing and aaahhhing right away. Btw, I would be jumping up and down just to live in something as cute as that “shed”…lol. Have a great weekend everyone.

I love little gardens as they can be gems without spending a fortune or hours and hours of work. The best garden we ever had was at our first house which was a tiny townhouse and we just had one garden under the dining room window, but boy did we fill it with flowers! I’m looking forward to seeing what you do in yours.
