No glitz or glamour in this neck of the woods! Good friends by the fire, grilling up hamburgers, sharing presents and stories and laughter … maybe a movie?

    Simple, deep friendship …

A small group at my house. After all the cooking and eating of the holidays, I like to keep New Year’s simple.

    Happy New Year, Melissa.

    Fondly,

I adore the pic of the clocks. I must incorporate that next year!! We always have just us and our 4 boys but I’d like to start having a small party. Maybe next year. Happy New Year Melissa. Keep up the great work!!

Melissa first let me say how much I love your blog! And I am anxiously awaiting your kitchen reveal! We have just begun renovating our 12yr old builders kitchen and I also love the two tone cabs and am favoring copying most of your inspiration board. While reading some of your past posts today about your kit project, I came upon a lengthy (and critical) comment posted in July criticizing nearly everything about your new kit choices and absolutely couldn’t disagree more. Ultimately we like what we like and that’s most important. But beige appliances? Never have and never will. The comment about your dark lower cabs being too much contrast? That’s exactly what I as well as many of your readers love about it! And finally, your polite reply to the readers post spoke volumes about you. Thank you again for sharing! And I look forward to posts of 2013! Have a wonderful new year:-)

      Chrystal,

Thank you so much :-)! I really love my kitchen and how it’s all coming together. I can’t wait for the reveal! It really looks a lot like my inspiration board, so I feel like we captured the look we wanted! :-)

Many thanks for your encouragement! So exciting about your kitchen remodel!

      Happy new year!

We help my parents host an annual New Year’s Eve party, but decor has no place in our plans. It’s all about fitting everyone into the space and finding room on the buffet tables for all that party food that gets brought and shared!
