I’m working on some fun summer decor around my house (updates soon!).
How about you?
Instead of adding a summery rug, I rolled up my heavy ‘ol braided one … and have said a permanent adios. It’s not returning! I just love those hardwoods too much …

Love, love all the inspired ideas. I painted my bedroom furniture the same aqua…looking for a white rug for my hardwood floors and a summer white quilt. It’s a small room but so light and airy. I will try to succulents in a shell. What a great idea. I’m adding succulents to my garden all the time
Such gorgeous color on that buffet/dresser! I’m so happy to see gals doing fun things with those big lunks of furniture. Makes me wish that I hadn’t given mine away all those years ago.
I love the framed souvenir map – I’ve been wanting to add more of our memories to our walls and this is a great idea. Also loved the succulents. What a great way to bring the outdoors in. Thanks for all the ideas!
I have some serious googly eyes going for that bed! Simply gorgeous! And I love the idea of planting some succulents in a giant clam shell. Now if only I could keep them alive…
Happy Fourth of July!
I love these Ideas! The simplicity of just adding white is so neat. (and easy)
Trying not to covet that map but NOT succeeding! And the frame is so charming. I’m redecorating one bedroom with only map art. We call it the Map Room. Map prints, pretty ones, are hard to find.
I love all of the turquoise and blue in each room. Really makes them look refreshing and new.
I’ve been inspired Five Ways!!! Haha!! :) Really Melissa…these are great ideas and you have such a fun way of encouraging ‘us’ to think about what we might do to change things up a bit. I’ve had fun playing in my sunroom and made it a summery blue and white by shopping the house and putting a fresh coat of paint on a wicker chair I got my husband to pull out of a dumpster. [wink] Of course…I sort of messed things up by turning it in to an Americana room for the Fourth. But, I’m thinking about trying to create a coastal look in the mountains (where I live). I do have a bag of play sand…maybe I can just throw it all over the floor. Wouldn’t that be fun?! My own personal sand box. Haha!! Okay…silliness aside…I so miss Lake Michigan having spent 3/4 of my life no more than a bike ride away. And when we first got married, we rented a cottage on the sand dune across the street from the Lake….oh that was fabulous…until winter…and then that’s another story. :)
Hope you and yours have a spectacular Fourth!!
Inspiring! I was inspired by the bedroom summer design idea. It is very cool. I love all kinds of blue shades and even if I love summer, I don’t want a very bright room especially if I am having migraine attacks. I managed to put in blue items in my room such as frames and blankets. It just needs a little tweaking to make it look cooler.
