Lately I’ve been feeling that familiar chill in the late night air. You do know what that means, right?! RIGHT? Fall is almost here!! YAY! Very soon around my house, throw blankets and cozy fall pillows will help usher in Autumn with layers of texture and warmer color.
I am already practically giddy about the house being lit up at night with soft lamps and the flicker of our fireplace and candles providing a warm ambience for cozy evenings and a comfortable space for friends to gather.
Fall the PERFECT season for an informal girls’ night in, which at my house likely involves a big pot of soup or chili on the stove, special hot drinks and tasty treats (chocolate is almost always involved). Friends will be invited to take off their boots and get comfy in soft new socks from the big basket by the door. I can hardly wait!!
Fall is my absolute FAVORITE time of year to entertain and to be invited to friends’ homes.
Are you getting ready for Fall?
*Skinny Cow encourages women to create their own special space (called a WoCavé.). Whether you use your space just to cozy up with a blanket and relax, or to chat it up with your girlfriends, Fall is the perfect season create a WoCavé!
You’re right, that pom pom throw is absolutely stunning!
Love this round up. So cozy.
I always enjoy your posts but especially in the fall. I can practically read the skips in your step. Great roundup.
This August has practically already felt like fall… I’m definitely ready for the season to change! Great round up!
Hooray, fall is my favorite! I love this roundup and now I want that soup pot.
Nope – not yet! I’m not ready to let summer go!! Has been strange weather but we have loved the lower temps and humidity. This last week of August promises to be our warmest so far and sun, sun, sun!!! We are out-door peeps and love the summer! I enjoy Fall too but I’m not quite ready to say good-bye to summer and face the on-coming holidays! LOL

Me too, Fall season is one of my favorite times of year for decorating and loving the colors so much that I have those hues all year ’round in my wall colors, furniture, kitchen ware, bedding, etc. and switch out accessories and pillow covers for other seasons. TFS, I truly enjoy your blog…
I can feel a little tiny bit in the morning air that Fall is not far behind, but until it is Sept, (officially) I am holding onto the last remnants of Summer. However, I have pinned a few Fall things on my pinboards, I must admit!!
Happy Monday to YOU, Melissa!!

Ha, Tiffany, I hear ya! rained here in Portland yesterday so I dusted off my jeans and boots too. magic!
I LOVE fall!!! I can’t wait and when the end of August hits I am so ready. I love the smells and the family time. You made me want to come over and have some of that chili and hot chocolate!

Fall is my favorite time of year as well and I can’t wait for it.
all my life, Fall has been my favorite season…the cozy sweaters, jeans tucked into boots, leaves crunching underfoot, hot coffee under a blankie…there’s nothing I don’t love about it! prime nesting time :-)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fall opening the windows up and letting the cool air in, Football season, soups for dinner, sleeping with the windows opened at night, getting under warm comforters, wearing chunky socks, the lists goes on and on.
Fall is my favorite time of year too!! Everything just seems so much cozier.
It feels like summer is only beginning, but I’m in the San Francisco Bay area. Summertime is September and October! I am looking forward to fall’s coziness though.
Wow! These are too lovely. All of the items just seem so welcoming and great- excellent round-up!
I love the idea of having a basket of comfy socks for your friends to put on when they come visit. I love fall!
Fall makes me giddy because we wait so long for it in Texas where it is 98 degrees, definitely my favorite season of the year and so worth the wait. Already thinking of soups I want to make and breads to bake and candles to burn and beautiful calendar pictures to turn to and walks that smell of crisp autumn air and pumpkins on porches, the list is endless
Happy Autumn!
I forgot to add chyrsanthemums, my favorite fall flower!
Hi Melissa, glad to see you are back on US soil. Saw that on Facebook.
Yes I am so glad for fall and all the wonderful comforts it brings. Love the
hot cocoa’s, hot cider, fires in the fireplace, cozy snuggly blankets and quilts…
love all of it.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
Debbie
I LOVE the idea of a basket with socks by the door! I have never seen this before. Do you just buy a bunch of different types and throw them in the basket and then have a “worn” basket by the door for depositing as they leave (so you can wash)?
And, sorry, but I am new to this blog (actually, with the exception of my daugther’s blog when she studied out of the country, this is the first blog I have ever followed…and I love it!)…so, what is a “round up”? A collection of items to showcase?
I miss fall living in South Florida now. My favorite are the warm socks :)
I don’t know why it can’t be Fall all year. It’s definitely my favorite too. Love your cozy items. Where can I find the candle and throw?
Working on my WoCave this weekend. And love those socks! I can’t wait for fall and the end of this heat. Thanks for this post!
Oh Melissa……you said the “F” word!! And you know what comes after that?? The “W” word and Brrrrrr. I am a Summer girl all the way. I love Winter for about 3 days around Christmas! I am a t-shirt, capri’s and flip flops kinda girl. Which is funny since I live in Canada. You would think that it is a moral imperative to love Fall and Winter. It isn’t that I don’t like Fall. I do like it. It’s just what comes after Fall that I can’t stand! But thanks as always for the inspiration. Let the Hibernation begin!!!
