31 Days of Falling for Fall!

Every year since nearly the beginning of blogdom, I’ve done a Fall series here on The Inspired Room. I can’t help myself, I’ve always loved Fall. It is such a glorious time, much too wonderful to waste its precious days fretting over the winter to come or bemoaning the passing of summer.

Who wouldn’t love beautiful days (that aren’t hot!) and getting cozier on cool nights? Fall is perfect. And because I have such high expectations and hopes for Fall every year :-) I might as well do what I can to make those hopes a reality by being intentional about embracing the simple pleasures of Fall.

And that is what Fall Nesting is all about –being more intentional about the season. And that is just what I plan to do!

As I’ve mentioned before, I feel like Fall is more of a state of mind and an outlook on life this time of year than it is about the actual weather or turning of the leaves. For me it is about nurturing a love of home and family. It’s about getting cozier at home by adding layers of texture and comfort. With Fall comes a desire to organize and arrange life at home to suit how we really want to live. Fall is a time to savor home cooked meals and bake from scratch. It’s the perfect season to plot out a few projects to improve our home. And of course, Fall is the time to start preparing ahead for the holidays so there is less stress and more good memories!

I already have a great line up of ideas, projects and inspiration to share for the entire 31 days of Falling for Fall, which will start here on September 16th! (There will be a couple of Fall posts before then, too, because I just can’t wait!!).

You can do your own series or fall posts if you’d like, I will put up a linky party the first day of the series!

If you are new to The Inspired Room and my yearly Fall Nesting series, come by to find a new Fall post every day for 31 days!

Don’t miss it, the Fall Nesting series begins September 16th!

I love Autumn too! For me also, it’s about making the house cozy and inviting. I love the days shortening and the darkness drawing us all together in the living room/kitchen. We share tea, coffee or hot chocolate, perhaps a movie, as well.
After the busy season of summer, it is nice to have a slower pace, perhaps build a fire in the outdoor fire ring, and invite friends to share the evening together.

I’m looking forward to your series once again this year, can you tell?

I’ll have to admit, I’m one of those who dreads the coming winter, and bemoans the passing of summer. I’ll have to check out your fall series, and change my state of mind! Thanks!

I love the coziness of fall (the boots, throws and hot chocolate) and the fresh start of new things (hello homeschooling). Looking forward to your series!

I am a huge fall person. I love the family and friend time that seems to happen. The cooking, baking, the smells and the boots and sweaters and snuggling near the fire. I LOVE this time of year. I do a major HAPPY DANCE when Labor Day hits. I know I go against most people but I am not a summer person at all.

My favorite time of year, for as long as I can remember! When we moved to a seaside town in the Pacific Northwest, from the Rocky Mountains, I spent a few years waiting for the weather to really turn to fall before getting into the fall state of mind. I realised after a while, with the mild weather, fall can often come and go in a few short weeks from mid October to mid November (or even late October into early November!) and suddenly everything is all about Christmas! I now start putting out my fall decorating items, change the wreath on my door, bake some pumpkin muffins, at the beginning of September and thus have a good two and a half months to enjoy it all. Even this is not enough!!
I have a question….When I go to look at last years 31 days of autumn bliss, I can’t find a way to go consecutively from day 1 to the end. I can only find randomised links to assorted days. I must be missing something…. any help? Janet

Oh, I like fall because children are at school and I have more time for myself. I agree that in autumn inspiration comes and you are trying to improve everything around you because it is getting colder outside and your house is like a shelter from all the troubles.
