I want this room in my house.
Sigh, I die. The attention to detail, the colors, the wallpaper (!), the cottage charm. I adore it all.

I love that wallpaper!
That wallpaper is like….WOW! So pretty!!
It really is gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
That wallpaper puts the cheer in cheerful!
The wallpaper indeed! I need that in my dining room as well!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE that wallpaper!!!
I feel the same way – my heart even stopped for a moment when I logged on to your post!! Thought I would never, ever, in a million years, want wallpaper again, either. LOVE it ALL!!!
This would be a dream room for me too! I love everything about it!
Love this! So cheerful. The ONLY thing I find kind of curious is the wallpaper visible behind the mantel. I think a piece of lightly stained planking may tie in the darker tones in the room (door, table), or go with a painted panel of some kind, and still allow the whole room to be papered if the mantel comes out of the room. I am curious as to her decision here….inquiring minds! But absolutely lovely!
Don’t even have a dining room – it’s my office, but not to sink into the depths of despair. Although I’m stuck for the foreseeable future with modern light cherry and grey desk furniture, I did score a wonderful large creamy white open metal and glass-shelf étagère for storage which brightens the area to the right and my curtains to the left are surely related to that charming wallpaper with their grey stems and citron (slightly greened yellow or highly yellowed green) flowers on a white background. I love the airy charm of your inspiration room and I covet that china cabinet, but I’m actually not doing too badly trying to achieve that effect. Thanks for tweaking a bit of unexpected but delightful gratitude.
apart from the wonderful wallpaper [if only I were that brave...], I adore that cabinet and the mantel area. what a sweet room!
Special shout out for the cream cotton-ish trim on the window treatment. Like the wood mirror and candlesticks as well as the sisal rug, it humblefies high-quality. It’s perfect “Elegant-Cottage”
passementerie!
You know as a decorator too I love the style and look. My problem is that I am my own worst client because I love change too much to commit to a wallpaper and chair fabric and drapes like that. I love it today and a month from now I am ready to change it. For me, I would do a great grasscloth wallcovering, neutral, even if patterned window fabric and neutral seats, like a stripe. Then all the blue, yellow, green in accessories so that when I get that urge (next month) the accessories change to gray, burnt orange and fushia and I do not have to change the high dollar items…Dollar Store Unite! I am mental that way…
What a beautiful dining room! I love the wallpaper and especially the “B” on the chairs!
Bebe :)
It’s so airy and cheerful. The wallpaper really makes the room, but would it be too much in real life? I wonder? I love the sweep of teal drapery at the window.
Absolutely gorgeous! Love love the wall paper and the chairs!
If I was a single gal with my own home, this is exactly what I would want for my dining room! We can only dream, right?
Happy room! Love the drapes and drop leaf table especially under the window.
Love the harmonious color palette! It does look very happy and friendly.
Wow Melissa,
Thank you so much for the great blog post! I can’t tell you what a surprise it was to see this on my feed.
Thanks again,
Charity
It is such a lovely room, it took my breath away when I saw it and that doesn’t happen often enough for me, so thank YOU! :-). Well done!
What a great room! My favorite part…color!! It’s refreshing to see wallpaper again, color throughout the room, a nice mix of soft and hard furnishings. This room reflects personality and I think that’s missing in way too many rooms that I see online and in magazines etc these days! It’s light, bright and fun all while being perfectly comfortable for formal or informal entertaining. Very nicely done!
I agree, Rose! Great observations! I so miss seeing rooms with unique personalities!
WOW! What a great room! I am in love with the4 way this room was designed and will use it as inspiration for my own home. Thanks for sharing. I want to redecorate my dining room now!
Oh…..I meant to add that I am thrilled that wall paper is coming back. I love the new patterns. VERY refreshing. I think I will put some up in my dining room. Then 20-30 years down the road someone will be stripping it off and cursing me. LOL!
such a happy room! the wallpaper just makes it sing
Thank you so much for posting this! I was wanting something special for my entry way wall-how fabulous this would be there or maybe the guest bath. I have emailed the contact in our area!
That wall paper and those dark floors in contrast with the white, Love it!
I love the colors in that wallpaper. So soothing. Reminds me of mid-century modern colors which I love.
