Hey Friends!

How was your weekend? Hope you had a great Mother’s Day! I actually had a great Mother’s Week last week :). I took a little time off (well, really it was more like a working vacation) to spend some time my family in Seattle. You’ll see a few pictures of our week in this post.

I had a bunch of work to do, but I tried to juggle what I could (I even did some gardening at home!) around sipping lattes at cafes, hanging out at a bazillion restaurants, taking walks along the water and driving around Seattle gawking at houses. You know what that means, don’t you? Yes, I’ll have a little Seattle drive by to show you this week!

I am not quite home from my travels yet, the next two days my girls and I will be at Harvest House Publishers in Eugene, Oregon working on the design layout for my next book! We stopped in Portland for a few moments on our way to Eugene and got ice cream after visiting our favorite bookstore, Powells.

We are SO EXCITED to be a part of the book design process on our very own coffee table book, coming out in October!

Over the past several months we have written the content for the book, photographed over twelve hundred images of our house, and spent countless hours trying to choose the best images to send to our design team. We couldn’t be more excited to see it finally coming together!

We’ll see you here tomorrow for a drive-by of some beautiful Seattle houses!

I love, love the Seattle area. I went there for our one year anniversary a few years back. Besides all the great shopping and coffee, and food we love the feel of the city. We also went to Oregon as well and stayed at a B&B that was the the light keepers home for the Lighthouse that is now automated. They are very into organic and local grown foods.

I love to “window shop” houses too, commenting on what I absolutely love about a place or what I would do a little different to my sweet (trying to seem interested) husband. I like to snap photos of landscaping, front entry doors, porches…whatever catches my eye and I have been known to ask my man to drive back by again so I can get a better pic! Looking forward to your tour. I’ve never been to Seattle.

I’m sure your book will be terrific because your photos make me want to climb in! That ice cream… oh my! I think it is important to have a little down time. It ultimately enriches our lives, making us better at whatever we do:)
