Hiya Papaya – I featured this pretty house tour in 2011!
I love shingled houses.
Shingled siding ranks pretty high on my dream house feature list.
Even if there are just small sections of shingles on a house I love the character it adds!
I think gray shingles are my favorite, but I love white shingles too.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Dream homes
Wow. My jaw literally dropped to see these fantastic exterior designs. I am going to subscribe so that i won’t miss on your future amazing posts. Cheers!
I love shingled houses too! I am hoping to add some to our old farmhouse in the future!!! Pinning:)
I wanted to side our Dutch colonial house in 3″ white clapboards on the 1st story + gray shingles on the 2nd. Vinyl board + batten siding is less spendy than vinyl shingles, so we opted for the board + batten. Either way, it’s all about New England-style exteriors, isn’t it? Speaking of which, I think our yard needs some blue-blooming hydrangeas to make the dream complete! Great post!
Can I live in them ALL? Love them, thanks for sharing Melissa!
Ooh! I love all of these! I have a soft spot for dormer windows or eyebrow windows. They add so much character to a house.
A little touch of stonework somewhere on the house. Classy and rustic at the same time.
I’d be happy to live in any of them. Never really thought about the material for an exterior, but my favorite style is Craftsman.
My dream is anything cape cod-ish with New England style shingles! Just moved from one and building another on the coast of Delaware! I could be happy in any of those CHRMING homes you featured in your post! Love dreaming…
I love the traditional with the shingled front exterior and the big porch. It reminds me of a farm house type. Years ago I rented an old farm house in a pecan grove right on the Medina River here in Texas. It needed work, actually quite a bit, but I loved that feeling in that house and I’ll never forget it.
I love grey shingles too! I spent a summer on Cape Cod when I was 14 and have loved their style ever since! Thanks for sharing these great pictures. Melissa, can you tell me how you get the pictures you feature on your drive by post. I am driving around my neighbourhood trying to take pictures but I am nervous about standing in the street and taking pictures. Do you knock on the door and ask or do you just have a great camera that allows you to take pictures from afar?
I’m totally into the shingled houses as well. There’s a beautiful one on a hill near us, surrounded by orchards. I always look for a “for sale” sign. You know. Just in case…
Love love love shingled houses. That is definitely a dream feature for me as well. There are many of them in the San Fran Bay area and I always slow down a little to gaze at them when driving by. Does anyone else rubberneck their favorite houses?
I really loved this beautiful house. Thanks for sharing
