Do you have a summer house? This is the time of year when we might be scrolling through Facebook and notice that so many people seem to be heading off to their vacation homes or are traveling to exotic destinations for their summer vacation. That’s so fun! But even if you aren’t heading off to either place, take heart. The home you’re in is one of the best destinations of all.
Whether we are heading off to a tropical location or not, let’s give our home-base a little seasonal refresh so we can enjoy our “summer place” and have a little more R & R right where we are.
Today I’m sharing five ways to create your summer home over on (in)courage!

These are some great ideas-here and on (in)courage! I was first introduced to (in)courage through you, and I’ve been subscribed ever since.
What is the tall plant underneath the white umbrella?
I was unfamiliar with (in)courage so thanks for the link.
I create my “summer home” in my backyard but it could use some updating. Good ideas. :)
I wish I had a summer home! That’s definitely on the wishlist!

Oh my God I love your ideas. I’ve been stuck on what to do with my house for a couple years. I just don’t know how to decorate but I know what I love once I see it. I definitely love your ideas. Is there any possible way you can help me from afar? I can send you pictures and you can tell me what to do, perhaps?? I really need your help please. I can be reached at [email protected]
Thanks
Cat
My year-round home started its life as a summer cabin — but I still like several of the ideas for making it seem more summery. The large knotty pine living room is quite dark, and the furniture is dark brown, so it can really use some lightening up. But the glassed-in porch with great views is a natural for summer enjoyment, when it’s not too hot!
