A Place at the Table: Festive Place Card Holders
Mouse Card Holders

One of the simplest ways to create a warm and welcoming table is to set out place cards. It doesn’t matter if you’re hosting a feast for four or forty, place cards tell people that they belong and that they have a special place at your table.

I found some adorable place card inspiration and ideas below (with shopping sources linked and more in the shop below, too!).

You can find my post called You Belong at the Table with some of my own simple place cards over on (in)courage today.

I sell the burlap pouches through my Longaberger site. They can also be used as a holder for gift cards or money, put on a present with persons name, use every year or pass down as an heirloom to the person, or enclose a small spatula, tongs or a wooden spoon and give to a hostess holding a dinner party. They are so cute cause you can print whatever you want on the little tag. I placed them by dinnerplates and laid a painted rock on top so that each guest could take their rock home.

I, too, love using place cards for special meals! We have made gingerbread cookies with the names piped on in frosting, Martha Stewart printables, purchased cards on which we merely write the name, gift tags, card stock “tents” with stickers, little walnut boats with paper sails (“Mayflowers”), vintage graphics found online and printed with a blank overlay for names, chalkboard Easter eggs with chalk names at the children’s table . . some elaborate, some extremely simple . . . all to say “You have a place here with us!”

Yes, a meal is more than the food!
