We changed family rooms last year with my parents (we are 4 generations under one roof) when my gram moved in. My mom liked traditional decor so the walls were pretty dark. I decided it was time to change it up a bit to a light, airy and cottagey feel! By adding wide pine planks to the wall, paint, shelves and some diy barn doors I think we achieved a much lighter and dramatically different look!
