How to Style a Mantel

This was my simple mantel last fall.

I did my spring mantel recently, but until I finish painting around it, I can’t really take a photo of it. It is all torn apart because of the painting going on in the room! It will look much better with the new paint behind it, anyway.

I love changing up my new mantel. I haven’t had a real mantel for quite awhile, so being in this house it is a fun treat to finally be able to update one for the seasons!

But it is sometimes hard to find enough photos for inspiration on how to style a mantel. There are so many options, from simple to complex!  I was really inspired by Layla at The Lettered Cottage’s comprehensive post (and series!) on mantels. Not only does she herself have a ridiculously beautiful mantel, but she has some great examples from her own mantel work for clients too.
