Inspired Holidays {Day 3}:: Why I Love This Season.

If you’ve been a reader of The Inspired Room for long,
you know all about my affair.

……………………{awkward silence.}……………………….

………………………………………………………………………..

You know.  The love affair I have with this season.

Oh THAT affair! Of COURSE!

It is pretty obvious, isn’t it? I don’t really even try to hide it.

This is the THIRD year in a row I’ve done a multi-day series incorporating the autumn season! Yay!

Wait. Three years in a row?

So WHY am I so enamored with Fall?

Why can’t I do a 31 Day series in October on OTTOMANS or DECORATING WITH THE COLOR BLUE or 31 DAYS OF BLOGGING TIPS? Nothing wrong with those ideas at all, but for me, I’d be missing out on the best few weeks of the year. And no two autumns are the same so there is always something fresh and new to discover.

Autumn is when I get my heart in the right place.

Having my priorities straight is important, because The Inspired Room is not, nor has ever been, all about having the latest, greatest, trendiest most perfectly decorated home. It is about having an authentic, warm, meaningful from the-inside-out-kind of home. One that is inspired by deeper things than you can see or create on the surface.

Here is my little Autumn Manifesto:

Autumn is not reliant on the temperature of the air outside. It is not dependent on a turning of the leaves. It is definitely not just a precursor to a long cold winter….it isn’t just about decorating with pumpkins or crows or black cats.

Autumn is the season to find contentment at home by paying attention to what we already have.

The simple daily rituals of homemaking, baking, nesting, decorating and preparing for the winter holidays ahead create a sense of peace with what we have right in front of us.

THAT is why I love this season.

Autumn reminds me how to love the life & home I have.

This season is a gift that I don’t want to miss!

What small fall nesting ritual could you enjoy today around your home?
