Inspiring Finds: DIY slipcovers
& other fun stuff

It was another inspiring week in blogland! As you might know by now, I add updated ideas from time to time on my Inspiring Finds page. Let’s see what I bookmarked this week!

Amy from My Pink Life has been my blogging friend for quite a long time now. I always like to go see what she is up to.
Check out her cute kitchen and ideas (seen in the photo above!)  here!

White Slipcovers

Nester invited some friends  to help her make a slipcover (I linked to Pink Polka Dot’s slipcover tutorial awhile back, but here it is again if you missed it!) — and it turned out so cute! My favorite thing on custom slipcovers: little flappy pleated skirt trim. Remember, DETAILS matter!

Nester said “too bad I didn’t straighten out the slipcover before I took a picture” but that is real life with slipcovers! Slipcovers aren’t perfect, but that is part of their charm you just grow to love.

Also, check out Tiny Twig’s slipcover. Not only is she the most adorable little thing ever (yes, a cute tiny twig), it is such a great makeover from office chair (YES, boring office chair) to a chic chair!

DIY Headboard

In case you are wondering about white slipcovers, I have white slipcovers at my own house too (and I love them!), I will post my “The Truth Uncovered: White Slipcovers” post soon, because there are a couple of issues with mine, in case you are debating about them for your house. Love them, but I’ll share a couple of things so you will know what to expect.

I thought this was another fun and creative use of cabinet doors via Apartment Therapy.

Check out the full headboard tutorial via Remodelaholic!

I love this use of maps for a wallcovering from Country Living!

I’ve been collecting some maps for this purpose so I was happy to finally find a great inspiration picture over at Happy Turtle!

I adore these adorable little zinc tags!

You can write on them with chalk! How cute are they?

I love the jute hangers too. I am going to hang them from my baskets and bins in my pantry to get myself more organized. I think they are so adorable.

You can find the tags for sale in my new shop if you want to join me in getting organized!

Have you seen this site: StyleRoom?

It is the largest community site for home decoration in Europe and they are now here in the U.S. You can upload your own rooms or check out ideas from other contributors. It is fun to snoop around and see homes from other countries too, just click on the little maps in the upper right hand corner of Stylerooms. There are a lot of homes from Sweden, which is a fun style to browse. Check it out! (Styleroom is a sponsor of The Inspired Room).

Happy browsing! And don’t forget yesterday’s big link up!
Tons of great inspiration.
