The Hiding Place {Finding Solitude}

Finding Peace & Quiet

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have to hide in my own house. My house gets L-O-U-D.

I like quiet. So I hide.

My main source of refuge? The shower. When my kids were younger I would go in the bathroom and shut the door just to steal a few moments alone. It wasn’t really quiet though because there would be lots of banging on the door and small voices saying “MOMMY!! AW YU IN THEWRE? COME AWUT MOMMA!” My kids are old enough to leave unattended now, so I can hide in the shower where I can’t hear anything but beating water. BLISS!

Even though I spend a lot of time around people (and I love my kids!), I crave a sense of true peace & quiet (not just the absence of sound!).

Today at (in)courage I’m sharing some helpful tips and insight into our need for solitude and how to find it!
