It does look cozy! I have a fave picture saved on my computer – from Country Living, probably – dinner for 2 in front of the fireplace. My favorite cozy idea!

I did this recently because if I don’t, there’s no way I’ll be able to fit the Christmas tree in here.

    Hi Melissa,

That is how I have the furniture arranged in our living room because there is no TV in that room….woohoo!! I love a cozy seating area and that photo you showed is beautiful. I love the room. I am glad to hear that things are going well for you in Washington. God Bless you and your family as you start a new church.

Great idea. I’ll be pulling in the side chairs a little closer around the woodstove today. Its chilly here!
Love that you’re doing a church plant. We’d love to do the same someday!

Great tip. We have to do that or else we can’t seat more than four folk! Like Jen, it’s the only way we can fit a Christmas tree, too.

I really love the cushioned stool/ottoman used as a coffee table. I am always on a search for a coffee table at a yard or estate sale and I’m always hoping I will find something like this instead of a traditional coffee table – I think it will be a perfect solution!

I like to draw everything closer to the fireplace in winter and having oriented towards the windows in summer. I’m looking forward to the rest of your tips. I like this one very much. Linda

Love the colors in the picture. Bringing in the furniture makes it cozy but is also very nice for small spaces! Thanks for all your beautiful pictures and inspiration. Too bad we can’t just wish to be in the picture and have it happen!

I did this today…and brought in one of my floor to ceiling bookshelves from another room. Took the panel off the back – the dark mahogany looks great against the sage colored walls. Even went out and bought a few new items to place on the shelves. It made my room look so much warmer and comfortable! Even hubby was pleasantly surprised. Love your blog!
