Get Your Fall On September 16th: 4th Annual Fall Nesting Party

Get Your Fall On September 16th: 4th Annual Fall Nesting Party

So I have FINALLY set the date for our #fourthannualfallnestingparty!!! Yes ma’am I might be a little slow on the draw and throwing this out there all impromptu like,  but I’m as excited as EVER about fall being here! So let’s see whatcha got for fall, shall we?

Remember, fall nesting around THESE PARTS is not about being READY for fall. It is about getting in the MOOD for fall.

You know me, I like to let my seasons evolve slowly. I make things easy on you, and on me. We do things all simple and easy around here. I won’t make you get out your fancy skill saw to carve your own miniature wood pumpkins by Friday, don’t worry. You are OFF THE HOOK. Take time on that.

Let’s just do at least ONE thing for fall, be it some simple thing you change or decorate at home to signal that fall is on its way, or share an idea you loved from last year or a project you intend to do this fall. And then LINK IT UP Friday or over the weekend or even next week. That way, we all get a little inspired. And if you don’t blog, you can share it with me on facebook. Or, just talk about it in the comments on Friday. Whatever. Just BE A PART. Don’t be a lurker.

I promise you, you can NOT hang out at THE INSPIRED ROOM this time of year without getting inspired for fall. No way. I will not allow it. All you summer lovers will be converted to my ways, if I can help it. It is my mission. My goal.

We kick things off Friday with the much anticipated yearly {although so impromptu, sorry for messing this up!} Fall Nesting Party and then starting October 1st we’ll be all about getting inspired for the fall and winter holiday season with 31 days of inspiration for the holidays. It is going to be awesome.

So. Friday. We are getting our fall on.

I have to admit I’ve already had a fall drink at Starbucks. I’m actually not as fond of the hot pumpkin spiced latte as I am about gingerbread lattes or pumpkin scones. BUT the pumpkin frappuchino? TO DIE FOR.  Perfect for the in between summer and fall weather. There you go. Now you want one. You are welcome.

So I’ve had grand aspirations of doing another blog post soon. Really, I’ve been trying.

Between crazy disasters, puppy chaos, being on the other side of the country without a computer, working on several big creative projects, our church relaunching this week in our new building (pictures are on my camera and I cannot wait to show you what we’ve been up to since I last posted on it!), and the bad news of my computer dying and Jack chewing on my camera cord enough to break it, I’m feeling a bit out of my blogging rhythm.

In the chaos, I even forgot to host the Fall Nesting Party I usually have early in September. That is lame. I’ll put a linky on THIS FRIDAY the 16th if you would like to link up your fall nesting posts!! You can do a little Fall nesting around the house or share a project from last year and then link up posts! So be here Friday the 16th for the party!!

Back to my camera cord and computer woes, I did a whole Drive By for you in downtown Charleston and on Hilton Head and I can’t show you any of it (except this one lone photo that ended up being loaded) until I get a new camera cord. Right now I’m using my husband’s computer to post, but it looks like I am going to have to buy a new Mac soon. RIP old Mac. When it rains, it pours I guess.

The good news is, though, I had an amazing time in Hilton Head hanging out with the other writers from (in)courage and dreaming about the future and what it could bring.  {I had to steal other people’s pictures for this post.}

DaySpring and Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce hosted the (in)courage bloggers for a long weekend of dreaming and planning for the (in)courage community, along with relaxation and fun. Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island generously provided beautiful beach front accommodations. Thank you to DaySpring for taking such good care of us. Special thanks to Jessica Gardo from the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce for helping coordinate our trip and being so fabulous the entire weekend.

It was an amazing weekend and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it!

(in)courage and Dayspring are planning a fun “in real life” beach party-ish (un)conference  for bloggers and non-bloggers all over the world in 2012 and I hope hope hope you’ll plan on being there! I’ll probably host one of the meet up sites at our church building so if you live in the area you can come hang out with me and others in our community. You can check it out and sign up for the webcast portion of the event here. It should be super fun!

Thanks to you all for hanging out here with me even with my disasters. In spite of all that has happened lately, August was the biggest month ever so far in my four years with The Inspired Room even with my lowest number of posts. How in the world that happened, I don’t know. Guess that means you all prefer I talk less so you can read more — this broken computer and camera cord might be for the best!  Ha!

Much love to you all. I’m really happy that fall has arrived (complete with cool breezes through my window today!). Don’t forget, this Friday, link up a Fall Nesting post!

Frequently asked question in the comments: Doesn’t Jack have any dog toys or bones to play with?

Answer: Yes. But he prefers non-dog toys like paper, cords and feet.
