Come with us on a Highland Park Neighborhood Drive By!
Hey friends! You all know how I love driving through neighborhoods and admiring beautiful homes, right? We call them drive bys ’round here. Well, my daughter Courtney was in Dallas, Texas this past weekend with friends and they drove by some jaw-dropping beauties in the Highland Park neighborhood!
You can see a few of her drive by photos in this post, and a drive by video at the end (it’s a video just from her phone as they were driving by, but it’s fun to pretend we were riding along with her, isn’t it?).
Speaking of neighborhoods, I asked a fun question on Instagram and Facebook this week and heard so many great responses that I wanted to ask you here, too.
What / where are the most charming homes and neighborhoods you’ve been to or lived in? I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments today!
You can also go see the post on Facebook and Instagram to read some of the responses there, too. So many great neighborhoods mentioned, it sounds like I might need to schedule a drive by around the country soon, ha!
Watch the drive by video below or click here to watch on YouTube! Again, it’s just a video taken from a phone so it will be a skinny screen, but we knew you’d enjoy coming along on the drive by. Enjoy!
So if you’re looking for the organization post, it’s here!
This is a beautiful area of Texas. I experienced it in person this past December. The houses were amazing! Thanks for the video:-)
I live in Dallas, and Highland Park is the most beautiful area for beautiful homes and landscaping! Love it!
What a fun virtual drive- by! Gorgeous homes.
Three of the most beautiful neighbor hoods I’ve been to and lived in ( one of them) are located in Oak Park, IL, Forest Park, IL, and Suffield, CT ( where we lived for a few years). Most were stately homes, but there were some beautiful, historic and quaint homes there as well.
I favor New England over the Midwest even tho I was born and bred in IL. ?
And I would add Hinsdale, IL
I grew up outside Atlanta, Ga. so I have to vote for Ansley Park. All the parks were designed by Olmsted so they are truly gorgeous and the homes are really similar to the ones in Dallas.
Mt. Vernon Avenue in Prescott, Arizona is my favorite street for a drive-by in my little town. And if you’re ever headed to the Grand Canyon, on the way you must visit Prescott’s very quaint historic downtown. It’s full of charm and lots of great restaurants and shops. Melissa, let me know if you’re ever coming this way:)
The Highland Park neighborhood is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods at Christmas time too. You can take a carriage ride, with Christmas music playing in the background, and look at all the Christmas lights.
I live in Winter Park, FL which is a nice suburb of Orlando. Highland Park reminds me of our unique stately homes with mature oak trees. Park Avenue is downtown and has great shopping and restaurants on the brick paver streets.
One of the prettiest neighborhoods in the Ward Parkway area of Kansas City, Missouri and the Janseen Place historic neighborhood of Kansas City.
I live in Central Illinois. There is a really cool neighborhood in Peoria that has a lot of really beautiful homes up on a hill. These home are so cool to look at and I’m sure they have so many stories behind them!
I love afternoon drives in beautiful neighborhoods! These homes are all so pretty with amazing architecture. Happy weekend, my friend!
Lovely vid – FYI if you turn your phone sideways (horizontal) you’ll get to see more in the photo!:)
Old Floresta neighborhood in Boca Raton, Sequoyah Hills in Knoxville, TN. Ghent area of Norfolk, VA (but flooding has worsened)
My favorite neighborhood where I live is a place called Diablo country club. The houses are old and some new but it’s very charming with a creek running thru parts of it. Very wooded. if I could afford to live anywhere in the Bay Area it would be there
If you really want a treat go visit in December when all the houses in Highland park are decorated for Christmas. Our son Stephen surprised me one year when I was visiting him at college. He arranged for a horse and carriage to drive us around the neighborhood and see all the Christmas lights and decorations. Beautiful!!!!
