Preparing the Backyard for Sunny Days!

Who is looking forward to nice weather? Me! Me! (jumping up and down). I’ve seen SNOW in some yards around the country lately, so I really have nothing to complain about. We’ve already had some sun, but don’t be jealous, just live vicariously :).

When the sun emerges, I LOVE having special spots where I can head out the yard to enjoy coffee, a picnic lunch, or even just to relax.

A couple of weeks ago I found a hammock, pillows and the most adorable little bistro set with a table and two chairs at tjmaxx.com and they were PERFECT for the areas I envisioned.

My favorite thing about having a nice sized backyard is there is plenty of room to create several different zones for activities. Yet the cool thing is that you can create a charming destination even on a little patch of grass. You don’t need a fancy patio or big yard for this! And you don’t need a ton of money, thanks to tjmaxx.com!

When the sun came out last week, I was practically skipping through the yard I was so happy! I found a SUPER adorable picnic basket at T.J.Maxx that had inspired me for summer picnics. Seattle is full of amazing parks and we even have two beaches within just a few minutes of our home, so it’s safe to say this basket will be put to good use this spring and summer!

How could you not be giddy with a basket this sweet?

Besides its cute watermelon fabric interior, it came with all the fun plates, cutlery, a tablecloth and napkins, goblets and a bottle opener.

The planter is one of my favorite finds, isn’t it the coolest with that trendy wood stand? I’ve been on the hunt for one like this for awhile. You know what is even better? It was only $12.99!

Just as I would for a room in the house, of course I wanted to add a little mood lighting in this space. This wood lantern is perfect and I love the rope handle on it. (Plus, I added a battery operated candle to make this a romantic little spot at dusk).

I have to say I’ve dreamed about a hammock for our backyard for years. Who wouldn’t want to head to a relaxing destination like this for a lazy spring afternoon? Now, I haven’t quite mastered the art of hammock balancing, but once I get the hang of it I think I could get used to this quaint napping spot by our camellia.

I also got a few pillows for maximum comfort and a little extra style, too.

All in all, I’d say my online spring shopping for my backyard was a big success! tjmaxx.com has hundreds of new items each week, so it pays off to check in regularly. It’s open 24/7/365 and with free returns in the store, it’s really easy to shop at your own leisure from the comforts of home.

If you’re getting antsy and stir crazy waiting for the sun, maybe do a little shopping for your yard, so when it does arrive, you’ll be ready! There is FREE SHIPPING sitewide today on tjmaxx.com!

Even if you have to wait a little longer for spring weather, maybe you’ll find a little sunshine in a basket like I did!

Happy day!

Thanks! I bought the mermaid fin pillows and 2 other patterns for my dining area and two sitting areas. I just washed all my patio furniture and cushions on Monday and realized I couldn’t salvage two pillows, so your post came at the perfect time!

Spring has been slow to come in the Midwest! So ready for sunshine and warmer days. I enjoy the seasons and look forward to each one for their own reasons. We’ve just had a lot of stops and starts coming into spring! Your backyard looks great!

I LOVE your new items but was instantly drawn to how you hung the lantern in the tree–so cute! I live in the Midwest and spring has been late but am now deciding how to update our outdoor area and which ideas that are floating around in my head will be the winner ☺. Thanks for the inspiration.
