Four Daily Routines + Puttering + Virtual Class

We might be relaxing more this summer, but the housekeeping habits we get into or continue to practice at home can still be beneficial to our well-being.

Daily home care can make us feel more calm and steady when the world around us is anything but.

A simple housekeeping routine is something we can count on to boost our spirits. You might not think of “chores” as something to look forward to in a day. Nor do I. That’s why I don’t like to call them “chores.” Mindset is important! Caring for our home should not feel like a chore or we will put them off until they truly are a chore.

If I can manage a shiny sink, a freshly made bed, a load of laundry folded and put away and a quick tidy of a corner in my home, I feel accomplished and at peace with my home when the day is over.

One of my joys in homemaking is in finding time to be a putterer. That’s another reason why these four daily routines make such an impact on my well-being. Soon I’m inspired to create more beauty and order not because I have to, but because I want to.

Over the next few weeks (along with home decorating projects and inspiration!) we’ll be talking about puttering and the unexpected joy in adopting the four daily routines.

You can also find me on my Instagram stories throughout the day, with gentle reminders of the routines and ways to find more beauty in caring for your home.

Four Daily Routines + Puttering + Virtual Class

Tonight (July 20) along with friends in my Dwell Well Collective group I’m hosting another virtual Plant Magic class! It will be at 5:30 PM PST / 8:30 PM EST.

This class is about all of the wonderful benefits in taking better care of yourself and the people and pets who live with you by creating a toxin-free home! I’ll be sharing more of my story with Hashimoto’s and autoimmune issues, my daughters will be sharing their stories, tips for using essential oils to help all the things (sleep, immune system, cleaning, tummies, focus and more) and my veterinarian friend will be on the call to talk about oils + pet safety, too!

If you missed the class last week, or want to join again or even invite a friend, just email me at [email protected] for the link to join the Plant Magic class on Zoom! (You can just listen in if you don’t want to be on video!)

We’d love to have you!

Love your posts. Can you please tell me about your coffee station in the first photo? It looks so clean and easily accessed. Thanks

    Good morning!
Here on the east coast we are experiencing a major HEAT WAVE!
But drinking plenty of water and keeping our home clean and tidy keeps everything balanced.

Is your kitchen table in a room off your
kitchen? Do you also have a dining room in your home?

Where did you place your TV? I love when the rooms in a home flow smoothly.

    Enjoy your home😌

    • Melissa @ The Inspired Room

Yes, our table is right through the arch! We use it as both an informal breakfast room and our “formal” dining room. We only have 1500 square feet and a basement! The TV is in the basement.

Daily home brightening up and puttering helps me too.If it’s not done daily ,it’s crazy !

I too enjoy a routine of puttering, it helps me clear my mind and also open my thoughts for the rest of the day

    Clever use of space.
I have recently purchased a diffuser.
I have placed it in a location that is central to our LR, DR, and the DEN.
What essential oil would you recommend? This air aroma therapy
concept is very new to me.
Appreciate any advice you have to offer.
