Summertime is yard time

I was just about to head outside to water some plants and I stumbled upon this great little dry creek on the Better Homes and Gardens website. I thought this was quite charming and a great idea if you have an area of your yard that tends to be a bit damp, narrow, dark or otherwise challenging to “decorate”.

Gives you a nice dry area to walk down and tend to your plants, too. A more creative approach than the traditional stepping stones!

Here is another tidy small narrow garden idea. A fresh contemporary design from Domino Magazine online.

I myself enjoy the ambience of the English style garden. This magazine would be great with a scone and a cup of tea!

Time to stop dreaming and get out to the yard!

  1. found your beautiful blog through Alicia’s “comments”, love your philosophy

  2. Thank you for the nice compliment!

  3. Thanks for visiting me. Glad you like my blog. I have been reading through yours and wondering which one I would land on to comment. It had to be this one. The gardens at Dixter are exceptional. So different to most. All done in seperate rooms. Christopher was never afraid to it like he wanted it and mix colours that most people would not. The effect was and is great.
Christopher Lloyd died soon after we last visited. It was a pleasure to see him just wondering around his garden aged 90 and willing to offer advice to all who asked. One of England’s best Horticulturists. Sadly missed.
