Beauty: {This is Glamorous}

by Melissa @ The Inspired Room on February 7, 2008

There are certain things I’m never without: lipgloss, a PDA, a great handbag, and of course, a notebook. I’m an avid note-taker and list-maker, so a good notebook is always within reach.

Everyday life can be hectic, so to stay organized, I write everything down. As a design oriented and visual person, I think better when I’m surrounded by beautiful things, which includes the notebook I carry. The one I’m using at the moment is a blank hardbound with a vintage silk scarf cover–it not only adds beauty to my day, but inspires thoughts, plans and dreams that are a part of living a beautiful life.

The very smell of a new notebook makes me happy!
I love paper and the ability to write thoughts on a clean new page.

Hi Melissa! I’m thoroughly enjoying inspiration week. I’m a note taker too and I like a pretty notebook. My notebook is at the back of my day planner and address book. Another item I can’t do without!

I wrote about the construction of our home, today. You will see lots of evidence of my note taking there!

Love the photos from This is Glamorous (great site)…I’m a list person, too. You’ve reminded me to keep organized by packing one of my notebooks to take along for the day!

Oh Melissa, we truly are kindred spirits because I am NEVER (and I mean never) anywhere with out my notebook. Write now (haha, right now) I am using a beautiful deep red leather journal with a leather tie strap and swirls on the cover. LOVE IT!

I keep notes, thoughts, dreams, etc. in it and they each have a different section of the book so I can keep them all separate (no tabs or anything, just a random spot in the book)

I am so with you on this one. Being a very visually oriented person also, I have to be surrounded by beautiful things in order to feel productive and useful. It just makes life more feel right. I really believe that this is something that is put within us by the Lord, and that when we crave beauty in “things” we are really craving the essence of who He is.

Beautiful journals… I have three of them in my bedroom at present, each with a different function, but all with beautiful covers. My favorite is the beautiful floral one with the spiral binding because I can fold it all the way back to write on either side of the page.

Blessings,

Christi

You must read Alexandra Stoddard, she is a firm beliver in surrounding herself with beautiful things. On her desk you will find a beautiful cup filled with pretty colored pencils. Her grace notes are wonderful. If you haven’t read any of her books you must try one. they are inspiring as is your Blog. thankyou for sharing.
