Sweet Escape {in your own backyard}

by Melissa @ The Inspired Room

Love this adorable little garden shed turned sweet escape!

Sigh.

Where are you escaping to this weekend?

Where am I escaping to? Besides having a party at my house tonight and then going to Portland for my middle daughter’s graduation party, I am “escaping” to Home Depot to spend a gift card!  Yippee!!! I’m hoping to get something I need for my backyard. No, it isn’t a garden shed. It isn’t that big of a gift card!

Next week I’ll be sharing what I found, and just so you don’t all get too jealous of my little shopping spree, I’ll be offering YOU the chance to win your own $100 gift card! Stay tuned for that next week.

I have some great summer giveaways planned over the next few months!

And now, to finally announce the winner of the Decorating is Fun book…ta da, Maridith The Procrastinator Crafter! Congratulations Maridith!

Hi Melissa. My escape for the next 10 days is spending time with family and friends, and more time at home-sweet-home. I’m so looking forward to it! I love the inspirational photo you included today, and congratulations to you on your daughter’s graduation! Have a wonderful weekend. ~Arleen

Melissa, so nice of you to stop and comment on my blog!

What a great little “get away”… maybe it is the kid in me that always wanted to have a hide away, that I am addicted (or hooked) on cottages. Or maybe its that I no longer have ANY desire to clean a 3000 sq foot home. ;)

And… Yes…Life is Beautiful (if we choose to see it that way)

I love your outdoor escape! The little flags have such a festive feel about them.

I am in search of some fun little details to create an outdoor space on my patio. Last week I found some wonderful chairs at a yardsale as well as some great gold tableclothes that I am going to use to cover the pillows. This saturday I’m hoping to find a few more treasures.

Hi Melissa,

I love the idea of a little back yard escape. I’m actually in the planning stages of trying to make our covered back deck into something special that we would want to escape to. Love the outdoors. Hope you have fun shopping!!

Love the shed! I’m escaping by chillin out at home. Grilling out, a plate of warm cookies (that I blogged about today!) and a movie…we were traveling last week so a relaxing few days at home sound like escape to me…Congrats on the graduation~

Who wouldn’t want to slow down from a fast pace life and relax in that room. Thank you for sharing. We have an old garage in our back yard, but it is a man’s room. Sports memorabilia, poker table, bar. Not a large room, but a fun place for my husband and his friends to hang out!

Can’t wait to hear what fun you find at Home Depot!

Wow! I love that little shed. The white and blue makes its so clean and fresh. :) I think Hubby and I are going to escape to a date-night-in…making dinner together and stretching out on the living room floor to watch a movie!

Hope you have fun at Home Depot. Gift cards are so much fun!

Oh, to have a “garden shed” like this in the backyard! We had a (much humbler) one when we were growing up that my brother and I loved playing in and pretending it was our house. Our neighborhood forbids sheds or outdoor buildings of any kind here, though, which is annoying, because we could use one!

Can’t wait to see what you get at Home Depot. Have fun spending that gift card! :-)

Hello Mel,
You’re right, again for just relaxing in our own backyard. It’s so sweet to gather family & friends, BBQ & some parlour games so, kids enjoy their week-end too.

Mine, is a bit cool for everyone to enjoy my treat for a happy but simple treat this week-end.

ENJOY!
