I adore this gilded pumpkin and gourd project. I think it is so pretty! I admired some of these images last year in Country Living but didn’t realize how easy it would be to create these beauties at home! Just a few weeks ago I was introduced to an awesome line of products from Caromal Colours — they make creative projects really fun and doable. And when I heard they were the company that did the gilded pumpkins in Country Living, I knew I wanted to share this project with you.

If you are at all struggling with how to festive up your home for fall, this would be a perfect solution!
Gilded pumpkins or gourds (or pears or pots or ??!!) would take you right on through the holidays! And it looks like a ton of fun to make them.

These beauties would make great gifts too. You can also use this kit to gild other things beside pumpkins and gourds, like decorative items or molding! The options are endless!
A FUN VIDEO DEMONSTRATION!
Check out this video (I posted it at Blissfully Domestic) to see the process of gilding a gourd! It is a fun video, you’ll enjoy it and you’ll learn how to make a great fall garland too!
A fellow blogging friend, Patty, is a distributor for Caromal Colours. She is absolutely delightful and is now a sponsor of The Inspired Room. As you probably know by now, I think one of the best things about blogging is the fact that we women can encourage each other in our home businesses. Times are tough for everyone and so if we can support fellow bloggers to make ends meet I am all for that! Together we can get through these crazy times.

{giveaway is now closed}
Now, because she is extra sweet, Patty is giving away a gilding kit (see above) to help us get in the mood for fall crafting! All you have to do is leave a comment here telling us what type of fall project you might use this gilding kit for if you are the lucky winner! Winner will be selected Friday at 10PM PST.
If you are inspired to check out Caromal Colours products, would you kindly check out Patty’s website for more information and use her code (PattyH) to place your order? That way she will get the credit for your order and you’ll get discounted shipping. You can also become a distributor yourself, so if you are looking for a creative way to bring in some extra income to your family, let Patty know I sent you over!

OH MYYYY! That doorway… with the gold and silver and twigs… sigh… Especially the thing on the door itself!!! Too dreamy! I might have to try those ideas… the house we’re now making over has those exact little windows above the front door. Oh, and while I’m thinking of what uncanny timing The Inspired Room’s ‘inspirations’ have had for me lately… the recent post with the ‘memory jars’ with the sweet hanging tags… My husband found a whole box of those EXACT bottles/jars in the basement that same day. He still can’t figure out why I’m THAT excited about them!
I love the gold leaved pumpkins and I think they would go very well with my Fall decor (plans), I even got the perfect pair of fake ones to try it out on. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that I win (I hope they ship overseas).

I have to say I have use gilding before for artwork and I love it VERY much – it adds so much to paintings. The splash of gold, just that glint adds quite a bit. When you think of gilding you don’t always have to think of making the whole thing gold. Sometimes just adding a sparkle is profound!
I love it very much!

I’d love a basket full of gilded pumpkins in my fireplace… it won’t be cold enough for a fire in there for some time.. so some sparkley pumpkins would be perfect in the meantime.
I’m enamored of that grape-bunched-shaped door hanging in the second photo. I’m about to replace all my mismatched ugly exterior doors with medium-oak colored doors, and a gilded bunch of fruits and gourds would stand out in a nice contrast.
I have several things I’d like to try the gilding on…….pumpkins, pears,
apples……..it’d be beautimous!!

My siblings and I (4 of and spouses) have decided the last few years to make the choice for meaningful and non-cluttery gifts, mostly handmade, in an effort to get back to the most important things about Christmas. I just found my idea for what I’ll be making this year!! I imagine even silver would be gorgeous for winter decor. Can’t wait to try this out! I’ll be doing some of the pots and some gourds!

I LOVE the idea of gilding pumpkins or gourds to hang from my dining room light fixture. Oh and the other CUTE idea that I’d love to tackle (if I had enough space in my outdoor entryway) is the cute shelf with gilded pumpkins on it…SO fun and festive! It would be fun to host a party and let each guest pick a pumpkin off the shelf as they leave. Okay, I’m more in LOOOVVE now!

I want to make a door decoration! I LOVE THIS!!
I would definitely gild me some pumpkins for the front porch. I LOVE Halloween and decorating for it, so please enter me!!
I would so love to win this. Last year at Christmas, I did a Martha Steward craft of hanging my cards from a branch in a vase. I would love to gild a branch for that this year. But before that, I could see some leave garland gilded for the opening to my dining room. Actually, I can think of a ton of things to use this for….

I just bought some fake pumpkins at the craft store the other day and I’d love to try my hand at gilding them and making a fall arrangement for my covered porch.
Now that I’m thinking about it, gilding would probably work on that old small metal bucket I have in the attic that I was saving for the perfect craft project.
