It is a Beautiful Friday:
Even Though My Internet Isn't Working
& it Keeps Crashing My Posts

My internet is not working very well and it keeps shutting off mid-post (grrr….I almost threw my computer out the window but I regained my composure) so this post is going to be brief…but I didn’t want to leave you postless on Beautiful Life Friday!

Please link up your posts and share in the comments about all the beautiful things you found this week!

I am leaving my middle daughter at college today. Sigh. I keep having flash backs to her little girl face and wondering how she grew up so fast!! I am so proud of her, she has been nothing but a joy to raise and I am so glad God allowed ME to be her mom! Ok, I better stop now before more tears fall on my keyboard. Two girls off at college now!

PS. I have the three winners of the $50 Lisa Leonard gift certificates!

Congratulations to Tara @ Feels Like Home!

Holly @ Homebody Holly

Kara @ Johnson Semya

Woo Hoo you are lucky girls!

Next week…winners of the HOMEGOODS SHOPPING SPREE will be announced! Woo hoo! Then the SHOPPING will begin!!

And I haven’t forgotten about our Procrastinator’s Party coming up in October, I’ve just been, well, procrastinating on talking about it.

So, start thinking of what project you want to do before the holidays…I’m going to be working on my project the first two weeks of October and I hope you’ll join me!! Mine just might involve a cabinet. That is all I am saying (in case I change my mind before then).

photo inspiration: previously unfinished furniture … hmmm…what could YOU do for the Procrastinator’s Party?

Thank you for telling me about Edward Hopper – now I know about him I did googel on him.

Yes it is wounderful to be a mother and see the grow up.

Like the things you did to the door – It should be fun to come home , me to try to make it more welcome.

    Have a nice weekend, MB

I can so relate to the computer problems and the deep…and I mean…DEEP desire to throw the stupid thing off the nearest pier! But, i guess we just have to deal with and accept out “Love/hate” relationship with the darn thing! LOL

    have a great day!

Know how you feel about the dumputer issues. I had to totally reboot mine two weeks ago, I still haven’t got everything back in working order.
You managed to give us some great pictures though. Gonna think about the procrastinator’s party. That one sure has my name on it.

Oh Melissa…from this empty nester…hugs and prayers today.
I have a project in my head that’s scaring me silly.
I (when I say I, I mean The Husband) painted our kitchen 2 years ago. It’s Red Pepper…kind of a red with brownish undertones.
He looked at me and said: “it better be snowing in the Sahara before you ask me to paint over this color.”
I hear the weather man is predicting snow in the desert…

I am sorry for your computer issues!

I seriously want bamboo roman shades and orange curtain panels in my living room now – how fabulous is that?!?!

All week when things have gone wrong, I have reminded myself of your strength and faith and just wanted to let you know that it inspires me to find the good when it’s really really hard. Thanks, Melissa.

Thank you Melissa, for keeping going and still managing to inspire us and warm our hearts while you’re going through so many ebbs and flows at the moment.

The reason I have no post to put in Mr McLinky is that I couldn’t get my laptop to upload one without crashing and I can no longer work my scanner. If I could wrap you up in an empathy blanket right now, it would look like that one in the photo!

I have nothing but admiration for you, Julia, Emily, Maya and all the others who share photos with us so effortlessly. I really appreciate it, and look forward to the warmth of the communities I’ve discovered through you.

Homes are living art, part of our souls. It’s nice to gather and celebrate that we’re lucky enough to own computers, lucky enough to have roofs over our heads, fabrics to snuggle in and eyes to appreciate the what folk have created to shelter and inspire their families.

Hi Melissa. Sorry your computer is fussing with you…have you tried putting it in time out? My computer is like a little child with a mind of its own…some days it cooperates…other days it is sullen and won’t do anything….other days it is happy and all goes well. I have to ask myself…why? Why the change? Oh well. We all feel for you and totally understand! Big smile @impatiently patient! hahahaha

I appreciated hearing your story the other day when you linked up with the other blog. (way too many comments to leave you a note!) It was real and honest and I know others saw their story going along similar paths.

I can relate to your woes over your daughter. My youngest (daughter) went off to college the end of August. A total transition. We’re empty nesters now.! But it does get better. They are experiencing life just the way we want. Right? Good luck. Have a great weekend an enjoy many good times to come with your new phase of life.
I love your site and follow it as much as I can. Thank you.

So sorry to have messed up on the McLinky … I put my blog URL, rather than the ONE POST URL. As soon as I hit enter, I realized it, but can’t figure out how to undo it!! Ugh…talk about computer woes; mine seem to be user-error woes!

I must know the source of your photos (if you haven’t already told). I adore that throw and the armoire is inspiring me to paint mine finally once and for all. Hey, that could be a project for the procrastinator party!
