Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house? Honestly, my house it looks a lot like moving day and only a little bit like Christmas. OY. Boxes and stuff strewn about everywhere {shakes head in shame}.

How on earth did I end up with so many Christmas boxes? I had to run in the living room just now and take a photo so you could see a small glimpse of the horror — it is crazy. Must get better organized for next year and eliminate about half the decorations. Seriously. I’m way too in to “simple” to have that much stuff. Not to mention my house is 2,000 square feet smaller than our last house. I really only needed a few things this year, but WHERE are they? Time to regroup. Clearly.
So while I am having a “moment” around my house trying to get things in order, I thought it would be fun for a holiday giveaway!
OH MY WORD! Aren’t these the cutest.bunny.slippers.EVER?! I would wear these all day if I had them. Gina from Feather Your Nest is sweet enough to be offering one lucky reader of The Inspired Room their own special bunny slippers! You can choose adult or kids sizes.
Feather Your Nest has some of the best things in her shop, have you browsed around her site? One visit would make holiday shopping a breeze!
So to enter the great bunny slipper giveaway, leave me a comment with the answer to the question today,
“Is it beginning to look a lot like
Christmas at YOUR house?”
Let’s discuss. Does it look a lot like Christmas or more like a bomb went off? Yeah.
Oh, and for fun, there is a beautiful Apron giveaway over at Reluctant Entertainer so after you enter this giveaway, go see the loveliness!
images: both photos are from my house.
This giveaway is now closed!

I decided to down scale the decorating this year. We have some outdoor lighting and wreaths on the outside of our home. This year I decided to go with a much simpler and natural looking decorating theme inside. I am still sorting through containers of decorations and will be doing some serious “thinning” of way too much stuff. Love the slippers!
My house is beginning to look a LOT like Christmas. I did the majority of decorating the day after Thanksgiving. I still have one tree to put up and I have to get the outdoors done, but after that I’m all good.
Last year I went through everything after Christmas and re-organized, consolidated, tossed things out, and got new containers. It made it so much easier this year!
p.s. Love the bunny slippers!
It looks a little like Christmas, just a few things out so far. The tree will come out this weekend along with the lights on the house. Woo Hoo!! {cute bunny slippers}

It is getting there- just need a little kick- thanks for the inspiration.
Happy day
I love those white stockings!! It looks like Christmas…I have the tree up, stockings hung, presents under the tree, now I just have to do all the little detail decorating!!
We just moved in so we kept the decorating to a minimum since we still have other boxes to unpack. Just a tree and a bit of garland for the mantel.

My house looks like a bomb went off in it but is an organized bomb. Last year my husband got fed up with me having him haul down tubs of stuff that I only pulled one or two items out of so I organized all of my bins and the attic so I knew just what to bring down. Everything is labeled and it was a whole lot easier to decorate this year. Love your site and ideas. I would also love those slippers to keep my feet worm as I curl up on the couch to read all the blogs I follow.
we don’t have any room for christmas decorations, so it looks just like normal around here
I am getting there. I have a whole box of unwanted decorations to go to Goodwill…every year I simplify even more.
We will go and cut down our tree this weekend!
For a while it really did look like a bomb went off here with the Christmas disaster that was. Our house is also about 2,000 square feet smaller than our last house and I swear I have so much “stuff”. I am seriously scaling down and since my tastes have changed – some “stuff” just needs to go. I’m a much simpler gal than I used to be.
Not yet, but tonight we’re putting up the tree, so hopefully that will help!
Oh, definitely a bomb! Our live tree is up and decorated. And the mantel is done. All the other trees are standing in place, but no lights or ornaments on them yet. Other than that, boxes and stuff is everywhere!
And I love those bunny slippers!

My house was a real mess the other day with all of the decorating boxes out—I often switch what I do with the tree so I have different colors and assortments—thus I needed everything out to choose. But today it is clean. I still have to decorate some more–just not sure what I will do in a few areas and I need time to think

It doesn’t ever look like Christmas at my house because I don’t decorate for the holidays! My husband and I always go back to our hometowns for Christmas so we’re never around to enjoy the decorations.
Very Christmasy here now! Yay!!! Still need to decorate the tree though. I love the decor of Christmas, it is so cheerful and colorful,
after I put it all away, I feel a sense of loss…. the house feels so naked at first! It is so much fun to take all the decorations out of the bins and be reminded of what is there. I seem to have lost our large Saint Nick though. Poor guy is out in the garage somewhere…

My home is BEGINNING to look like Christmas – I have half as much up as last year. Not yet in the mood for major transformation. But, with out of town friends coming in this weekend, I better get going!

Thats what really starts the Christmas Season for me…the changing your house from Autumn to Christmas…even the smell of my candles change. Having 5 daughter helped…now that they are older some with their own homes, its become a contest to see who can turn their home into christmas town first! (but no starting till after Thanksgiving)
I absolutely had the Christmas bomb go off in my house too. My DH brought down the boxes (I have a ton too) last weekend, and I only managed to get 1 tree up so far. Gotta start the rest of the decorating today, having guests over this weekend. Now that’s motivation!
Those slippers are super cute! Thanks for the giveaway!

It looks more and more like Christmas every day. slowly, but surely.
Love the slippers
Yes! We have four trees up – and one in the kitchen this year which is so nice – but I still need to get rid of some clutter, and the boxes.
My house is completely undecorated – and will stay that way until Christmas Eve! It’s our tradition. Those slippers are too cute.
I have one garland left to put up, everything else went up last weekend!

TOO CUTE! My house always looks like a bomb went off! Two little ones with too man toys!! I will say that all our decorations were up the day after Turkey Day! I {heart} Christmas!
I have now sorted and cleaned up from the huge mess I made….we closed our business last year so I had all my christmas decorations from there as well as my home ones. The three trees are up and the mantle is done! Oh, now I have a little guy who wants me to find one of his Santa hats to wear…back to the buckets I go. Happy
Day.
Yep, definitely like Christmas (and not like a cyclone went threw spewing Christmas stuff) – but I have far fewer boxes of decorations, so that helps – and last year, I took advantage of the sales to get plastic storage boxes and finally got stuff into those and out of the bazillion half-falling-apart cardboard boxes of every possible type. After that, we could actually put almost everything in one closet in the house. Man, did that make this year easy.
(The wreath, and three miniature trees were still in separate containers in the pantry – the big tree was in the garage. This year’s goal is to get those into a plastic box as well. Except for the big tree. That just ain’t gonna fit.)

Those slippers are adorable! It definitely looks like Christmas here…but just enough. It doesn’t look like a snow globe village exploded in my house this year.

I think we are mostly the same – we buy all the lovely goodies and eventually there is just sooo much!!! I normally avoid the xmas decor thing as along a s possible and have come to realise the reason is exactly that …. far too much stuff… what to choose??? etc.etc. etc. anwyay it’s all fun in the end!!

My husband and I always decorate the house the Sunday after Thanksgiving! Every year the house looks different but we always watch White Christmas while doing it. We have had a great time doing it so far and each day I pull out something new. Right now it’s kinda of a haj pag of stuff hopefully over the years I will get the look I want and not just use the stuff that has been given to me!

Slowly beginning to look like Christmas – the boxes are still out and I put things up when inspired
We are getting our tree this week so hopefully it will look like Christmas soon…
It looks like Christmas scattered itself in my house with no idea about how to organize!

Yes, it is beginning to look a lok like Christmas at our home! I admit I am behind ; ] But, I’ll be completely f=done decorating by this time next week, even if I lack in the sleep department! I’ve og 2 – 10′ trees done, 2- 4′ trees and 1- 3′ tree. Tonight I’m working on the double arch tree in the foyer. I just tell my self, I will get it done soon!

I’m afraid our house doesn’t look at all like Christmas. It still looks like Thanksgiving!! We were sicker than dogs this weekend, so nothing happened. But today’s the day! Fall decorations away, Christmas tree up!
Love the slippers and of course the house is a holiday hurricane zone!
One tree up, maybe one more to go. I am mainly dreading the garland this year. Time is going so fast…..
It’s beginning to look SOMEWHAT like Christmas. I haven’t decided on a tree yet this year, so a lot of my decorations are still packed. But I did get out my snow village to place on my dining room buffet, decorated the table, and hung stockings. So, yeah…I guess it is.

I am getting there. All in all I think it is very festive and Christmasy (is that a word?)
I wish I had my house decorated! I haven’t had time yet…Saturday’s project.
These slippers are adorable! I would totally wear them!
I am sure there is Christmas somewhere under there… Oh the chaos!

it DEFINITELY looks like Christmas at our house! It is our first Christmas in our house so I went all out and I love it.
Not so much but each day I hold out hope I will have time to at least start decorating.
It sort of looks like christmas at my house. If by “looks like christmas” you mean I have a “porch tree” (that I borrowed form m y mom to use as a christmas tree) up and a vase with orniments and 2 candles, then yes, I’m all decorated. I’m not worried, it’s mine and my husbands first Christmas together (he was deployed to Iraq last year) so I think it’s fine to not have much right now.

Not yet. I am pondering not decorating this year – and I cannot even believe I’m saying that. However, I am planning a wedding, so my house is overrun with that stuff, I may be moving soon if US immigration decides to FINALLY, after a year of waiting, let my fiance move here from England and so I am thinking I might give this year a pass. I will, however, enjoy many of the sights to be seen on blogs and at friend’s houses.

Definitely more like a bomb went off. We recently moved so I’m unpacking and trying to find all my Christmas decorations! Hopefully it’ll all come together!
Right now it’s a cross between Fall and Christmas … my grand plans to get the tree up last weekend did not come to fruition! I’ve got my fall things up, wrapped Christmas presents and boxes everywhere! At least my iTunes Christmas mix is organized and perfect!
P.S. Love your christmas stockings in this post! Did you make them or buy them … and if so, WHERE?
Those are certainly utterly adorable slippers
And might I add how wonderful they’d look on my freezing feet!
We got our first home
We moved in…and we’re living in the remodeling chaos! I simply love it though.
One of the things on my wish list is a Christmas Tree, but it looks like any extra money we have wont be for decorating the house, but instead, putting up drywall, etc.
Love the blog!

Those white stockings are GORGEOUS! I couldn’t dare hang them in my house, though. Too many sticky little fingers…LOL!
It is beginning to look like Christmas at my house…slowly but surely. Every year I feel like we have SO MANY more boxes than decorations, though! I open them up and set it all out and say, “That’s it?” Must – keep – collecting!!! (Husband would hate me for saying that!)
