Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house? Honestly, my house it looks a lot like moving day and only a little bit like Christmas. OY. Boxes and stuff strewn about everywhere {shakes head in shame}.

How on earth did I end up with so many Christmas boxes? I had to run in the living room just now and take a photo so you could see a small glimpse of the horror — it is crazy. Must get better organized for next year and eliminate about half the decorations. Seriously. I’m way too in to “simple” to have that much stuff. Not to mention my house is 2,000 square feet smaller than our last house. I really only needed a few things this year, but WHERE are they? Time to regroup. Clearly.
So while I am having a “moment” around my house trying to get things in order, I thought it would be fun for a holiday giveaway!
OH MY WORD! Aren’t these the cutest.bunny.slippers.EVER?! I would wear these all day if I had them. Gina from Feather Your Nest is sweet enough to be offering one lucky reader of The Inspired Room their own special bunny slippers! You can choose adult or kids sizes.
Feather Your Nest has some of the best things in her shop, have you browsed around her site? One visit would make holiday shopping a breeze!
So to enter the great bunny slipper giveaway, leave me a comment with the answer to the question today,
“Is it beginning to look a lot like
Christmas at YOUR house?”
Let’s discuss. Does it look a lot like Christmas or more like a bomb went off? Yeah.
Oh, and for fun, there is a beautiful Apron giveaway over at Reluctant Entertainer so after you enter this giveaway, go see the loveliness!
images: both photos are from my house.
This giveaway is now closed!

Oh Melissa, normally by now it would be looking a lot like Christmas at my house, but I am recovering from surgery and can’t do a darn thing but sit here and dream about it! My husband did put out our cute little Snowman solar lights that we bought at Costco. That’s as close as we have gotten so far. Those slippers sure would be good for keeping my feet warm while I recover!
In this new stage of life, Christmas makes its entrance much later. I guess the short answer is “NOPE!”
Nope! Just getting the pumpkins off the front porch and out of the house. But our Christmas lights are up, so it’s not all bad. Looking forward to it all being done in a week or so. Love the slippers! Polly
Yes, it looks like Christmas at my house. The tree was decorated the day after Thanksgiving. The Christmas lights were put on the roof that day too.
Not much like Christmas yet…mostly like the kid-bomb exploded
We’re getting our tree on Saturday!

It’s not looking too much like Christmas here – which makes me a bit of a Scrooge right now. I’ve got one tree up and decorated (even if the top half of my lights decided to quite even after I checked them), and my other tree is sitting in our dining roomt aking up a lot of space and it’s not decorated yet. I’m on a mission this payday to get it done and maybe the Christmas spirit will return.
How I wished it did look like Christmas here, but not yet. Nursing a broken heart at the moment so hopefully the spirit will grab us soon. Adorable slippers!

Last year I pared down my decorations by about 3/4. This is the first year in a while I did not feel completely overwhelmed at the thought of decorating for my favorite holiday. I enjoyed pulling out the sentimental items I saved that were no longer lost in the mess.
I started extra early this year so we’re looking pretty good around here, though it’s a battle to keep the so-called sewing room cleared out enough so I can actually sew.

Downstairs looks like Christmas. Upstairs it looks like a bomb exploded!! Not finished yet, but enough for today:)
No, it’s not looking like either quite yet! Tonight, it will start to look like both!

I love love love your stockings! Anyway, my house looks it’s usual mess. Before I can bring in Christmas stuff, I have to clear some space in my cluttered entryway, that’s where we’ll put the tree. Oh and the scarecrows are still up from Halloween/Thanksgiving so my house still looks like Fall.

It is starting to look like Christmas around here! There are a few things that aren’t quite set yet and…I need to make up my cookies and send out my cards….so much yet to do…but it is fun! The slippers are adorable…hope to win them!
We traveled out of town for Thanksgiving and flew back Sunday morning, it was about 11:30am when we got back to our apartment… and yes, I was insane enough to start Christmas decorating as soon as I had unpacked our suitcases (at least I unpacked first).
So we were 90% done by Sunday night when I went to bed. I finished up with the last little touches of garland last night. ^_^ Granted, I only decorated our front rooms and we live in a 980 sq ft apartment, that makes it pretty easy. Just one thing left, string lights on our sliding glass door.

I believe ‘begining’ would be the key word. I had a yard sale and got rid of a lot of Christmas things and gave most of my tree collection to my sister. I used to have about 160 trees from 2″ to 4′. I think perhaps I sold too much at the yard sale. Oops. Love warm feet!

Two weeks after Halloween, I put out a string of lights in the backyard. They I added more the following week. And more inside the next, and it just kept snowballing.
Yes indeed, it looks like Christmas.

Even the dog is avoiding the dining room crammed with totes containing Christmas stuff. I have my 3 trees up, but still waiting for some inspiration for my mantle….so your blog got some ideas going! Thank you!
Oh my word! It looks like someone is moving in or out here too! I started going through my storage closet and can’t believe the # of containers and how scattered within they are. I found a Halloween item amidst the Christmas ornaments, etc.
Please don’t feel bad ~ I think there are prolly more out there like us!
The mantle and stockings are beautiful ~

Not really decorating this year. My house is too small and is in a state of remodel. So I will make up for it by helping my parents deck out their house. We always celebrate on Christmas eve at their house with all five of us siblings and our extended families and whoever else just wants to show up. Mom and Dad are edging up to the high side of seventy and all the decor is getting a bit much for them so with help from my sister and our daughters we are going to do the decorating for them. Of course Mom will be supervising!
Nope, doesn’t look like Christmas here yet. Too busy shopping and helping a daughter move. But I love your stockings– and the slippers are too cute!
Joy to you as we celebrate the birth of our Lord,
Marilyn
I have to say that my house doesn’t look like either. We just moved about 3 weeks ago and so we are not putting up Christmas. Or should I say I am not putting up Christmas. I will enjoy everyone elses Christmas decorations online.

One of the things I love most about Thanksgiving weekend is…switching gears from fall, etc. to CHRISTMAS. Well, this year I was gone Thanksgiving week until about midnight Saturday night, so no Christmas has appeared here. The trip was so full of love, laughter, beautiful music and the love of the Son of God whose birth we celebrate, that it makes it all o.k. The boxes are out of the attic, and hopefully before lights are out Sunday night, the magic of CHRISTMAS will be in our home as well as our hearts.
Love to you Melissa.
Mine looks like a bomb went off!! I have Christmas bins and fall bins all out with stuff going away and stuff going out! Hopefully I get this cleaned up soon!

Wreaths in the windows, faux tree put up and ready for decorations, boxes and bags of stuff everywhere too!
FINALLY, just today, it is looking like Christmas at my house!
I always struggle with what to put on my mantle at Christmas. Any suggestions?
I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who was hit with a Christmas bomb!
Even though each year I say I will be better organized ‘next’ year!

Every year we seem to get a slower and slower start. The tree is all trimmed and tomorrow morning the outdoor lights will be put up… of course there is the minor problem of all the boxes stacked in the guest room waiting to be unpacked! What fun!

It looks like Christmas at our house!!
It is indeed beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our house. I too have pared down on the decorations, but have slowly remembered a few favorites I need to get out still. Thanks for the chance to add a little coziness to our tootsies, with the cute slipper giveaway!

I love these slippers. My little one would look so adorable in them!!
Well, for the most part Christmas has made it into my home. I still have a few fluffy things to do, but that will have to wait until this weekend.

Right before reading your blog entry, I was debating whether the Christmas decorations will even be coming out this year. I’m in the middle of a very stressful semester at school and just seem so disorganized. I’m afraid that if I bring out MORE stuff that I will be even more overwhelmed. I’m sure I will end up compromising and put at least some of the stuff out. I don’t have kids, so I’m not “depriving” anyone (but myself, maybe?) of not going “all out” this year. Trying to simplify a bit, I guess!! (Except one can always make room for a pair of bunny slippers–LOL!)
Well, a little bit. We moved into an apt. recently after selling our house and not finding a house to move right into. So, we are very cramped and all of our Christmas stuff is in storage. So, to compensate for the lack of decorations this year, I bought the girls (have 3) a hot pink tree (that they can use next year in our soon to be playroom in our recently purchased home -yay!) that they have decorated themselves with ornaments they have made. Not so bad after all!
Love the white stockings!
Put in my the bomb catagory.
One box is sitting in the midde of the table but that is about it for decor. Between extra long shifts all month, being away for 2 weeks at the end of the month and no guests to motivate me, am thinking not too much is coming out of the box.

It doesn’t look anything like Christmas here…yet!
It will look like CHRISTMAS this coming weekend. All Boxes are out of the Attic ready for all of the adorable decorations to appear! and those cute Bunny slippers could help me decorate! I hope I win ..:) Laura in Houston
Definitely looks like a bomb went off in my house, or as I say, “Christmas exploded in my house.” There are half-empty boxes everywhere!

Thanks to your inspiration, I’ll be dec-ing my halls — and everything else in sight — today! That includes over 30 windows, each with a little wreath and candle (two batteries each. . .) I’d better get started. Karen

It’s barely begining to look like christmas. We have started our Jesse tree and that’s about it. We’ll get a few more decorations up….sometime:).
A little bit: some red amaryllis and white pointsettia, advent calendar and stockings in the kitchen for the boys…. it’s a nice day (60 degrees!)to hang wreath and garland out front…. smells like Christmas, with pumpkin bread in the oven : )))))
Boxes everywhere here, too, over the weekend!
Cute slippers!!
It looks a lot like a California Christmas- white trees, Santas- but no real snow!

Actually no, my house looks like fall still. My husband’s birthday is on the 10th and we have a family rule that Christmas doesn’t officially start until the day after his birthday. I think as a kid he got his birthday passed over a few times for the holiday. I get so eager once the 11th rolls around that we put lights up in the day and then go tree hunting in the evening.
My poor house just looks confused. I have fall decor strewn in odd places. My Christmas stuff is trying to shine through, but the piles are never ending because I can’t find what I need. Maybe I just need to go shopping for more stuff?

Hi! It is my plan to at least put up the outside lights today! I have a 1920′s bungalow with a front porch that looks so cute with sparkly lights.
It always looks like a bomb went off at my house. But right now it looks like a Christmas bomb went off. When are they going to start making bombs that clean up after themselves?

Well, it was looking alot like Christmas, until the carpet installers called and I had to stop everything to get new carpet. Now I am not complaining, mind you, but it does look a little like a bomb went off here with a little Christmas thrown in.
