{Faints} An indoor potting shelf in a little room?! I love you!

Charming Potting Shelves

Feeling inspired for my own potting shelf, I realized I have two outdoor tables that would work just fine for plants.

But, sadly, I have no plants yet. I have a pot though! (yay me!) I need to get myself a plant for that naked pot.

This whole vignette is needing a little something green to bring it to life. I’d say next sunny day, I’m getting some plants.

This cement table used to be on my old stone patio and it looked AH-MAZE-ING with pots on and around it.

It was a monster to move here (each piece weighs a bazillion pounds.) This is where my hubby and dad set it down, and that is where it stayed. Naked.

Bad blogger. I should have run out and bought plants to make a more fulfilling conclusion to this post. Instead, I leave you with my barren tables. Just IMAGINE them with plants! Ah, much better! The end.

Do you have a little potting shelf?

  1. I don’t have a potting shelf, but now I’m dreaming of one. Beautiful pictures!!

I could have a potting bench, now that I think about it! What a great idea! I am thinking Hydrangeas….mmm.

  3. Ah you brought back the shed that inspired my may backyard fix up. Roof, I need a roof.
I use an old porcelain top table as my potting shelf.

  5. Oh, WOW. I’ve got just the place for this little gem. We’ve got a scraggly, old sort-of-rose shrub thingy (yes, it’s that indistinguishable except for the thorns) that keeps scratching the kids as they play tag because of where it’s placed. So I think that instead of that backyard hazard, I’ll replace it with a cute potting table under the window instead. Now, if I could just keep something that I WANT planted…alive. It’s a struggle for my plants to even resemble the before pictures in the potting soil commercials. So, yes, I’m going to scroll back up to admire all the beautiful, colorful, GROWING flora and fauna of the inspiration photographs and cling to the hope that I can replicate this in some manner.

    *sigh*

Off to the plant nursery to find a huge stainless steel tub for underneath the table (like in the fourth picture) and, maybe, a few vibrant plants for me to torture. Thanks for the GREAT idea!

Oh, and merci, gracias, and many thanks for the motivation from some of your previous entries to finally paint my battered and children scarred kitchen table. It still needs another coat of paint but, oh my, am I smitten with it again after 15 years of sturdy service. It’s just beautiful!

  6. Very nice shelves/tables!! Since all (or most) of my plants are planted at table height (raised beds) already….I guess I’m set. Love the photos!!

Is it just for me on my new computer???or did your right side-bar fall to the bottom? LOL!!

i had a potting shed once and i miss it dearly…i am trying to send you an e-mail, hope you get it…hugs, r

  10. So funny! I actually have a potting shelf. I dreamed of it for years. My husband actually built me one. Now, it’s got piles of pots on it and hoses and bags of mulch. It’s a “working” potting bench, and not the “decorated” one I had envisioned. Do you suppose there’s a way to mix the two? ;-)

  11. I so heart these shelves as well as the adorable potting shed! I do not have one and I recently gave up the spot I’d hoped we would build one on, but for a good cause; a swingset for our 3 grandchildren, 2 who just moved back here. Someday, maybe :) And it is best you didn’t have your tables all greened up so those of us who are still trying to get things planted do not feel too bad!

  12. No, but after seeing this I know where I can get one. (I have a spare shelf in the garage just waiting for something to do.)

  14. Love these ideas-we’ve got a little shed out back that could use some love-I might just have to try some of these!

  15. I do have a potting shelf that looks something like your first pic. It’s outside my kitchen window and currently holds a collection of succulents and a shard mosaic chicken. I’d love to have a fixed awning over the top like your example here, but there’s a canvas roll-out awning already in place that the Hubs will never take down. Still, it’s a nice spot for cute plants that look good close up – from inside the house and outside.

  16. Fiona Sanders says:

I am super blessed in that this old farmhouse came with a 3 car garage. Then someone turned it into a 2 car garage with two storage rooms in the middle. One of the storage rooms has a glass door in it that leads to the backyard, it has shelves in it, and a climbing rose next to the door.

It just lacks some cleaning up, a trellis, and maybe some other fun odds and ends.

But I have to finish my kitchen first!!

BTW, LOOOOOOOVE the cement table!! Gorgeous!!
    Hugs!

Don’t hate me but my wonderful hubby built me a greenhouse/potting shed. But I adore the idea of a table outside for potting and am inspired to look for just the right one to snuggle up to the shed. Thanks for fun ideas !

  18. I have been looking at potting shed’s and this idea is so much more practical for me! Thank you for finding so many great & different looks for inspiration :)
I can’t wait to show my husband what we “need” to add to the yard!
