31 Days of Autumn Bliss {Day 20}:
Get Cozy with Knits!

Pottery Barn

Greetings friends of The Inspired Room!

It’s me, Kate a.k.aCentsational Girl! I’m tickled pink to be here today, guesting for one of my favorite bloggers on the planet! Ms. Melissa is off speaking at Relevant this week, so I get to be here for her Day 20 of 31 Days of Autumn Bliss. Today’s topic? Get Cozy With Knits!

To me, the best kind of autumn knits come in two flavors: scarves and throw blankies. Going out? Wrap your colorful scarf around your neck and grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte. Staying in? Get cuddly with a blanket and your loved ones on the sofa and watch some classic movies.

Here’s a few of my latest finds that are sure to keep you warm in style!

Throw Blankets: 31 Days of Autumn Bliss {Day 20}:
Get Cozy with Knits!

Scarves:

“Scarves are an essential piece to your fall/winter wardrobe! They are a versatile and inexpensive way to update your look, while keeping you warm with out adding the unflattering bulk of a big sweater. Take any outfit up a notch or two, by just finishing it off with a scarf. Scarves can take you from a football game to a holiday party, and one or two will get you though the fall and winter months!” ~ Jennifer Rosson of Style Your Life

Ruffles, stripes, fringe and faux fur are in!

Here are some selections under $60, including cashmere.

Thank you SO much, Kate, for giving me a day off to travel to Relevant! LOVE this post, fall is THE most cozy season of all. You totally are sensational!

Do you put cozy throws on your chairs and sofas for Fall?

I have a pom pom throw like the one in the first picture and I love it! Super cozy.

I love Kate!!! And there are fuzzy blankets all over my house and me once it starts to turn cooler. Is it wrong to say I have two on right now?? Lol!

OMG. I love these kinds of posts – even though I have way too many throws and sweaters! Fall definitely seems to bring my family closer with all the fabulous soup sharing, snuggled up movie nights and BAKING! (Although I’m not sure how much closer we can get since we’re very involved. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?)

Thank you Melissa. Please keep these posts coming, they’re awesome!

I could use a nice, new scarf!! Think I’ll invest in one this winter :) The only one I own is a plain ‘ol gray one from Gap (from ions ago when I worked there). Need something more stylish!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Great post Kate! Love all the cozy throws. We have a few around our house. Love all the new scarfs too. I love how easy it is to dress up a plain outfit with just the addition of a scarf.

Nothing says warm and cozy like an evening cuddling under a soft, warm blanket or throw. And in winter, a scarf is part of my daily wardrobe! Thanks for the great resources.

Hi Kate! Love all the selections….I love that rosette throw! I wear a scarf pretty much every day….and I have about 30 of them. Crazy, I know! So maybe I take it a little to far. :)

Well, now I’m totally coveting that cashmere scarf from Target…save up my fun money I guess! :-) We always have cozy throws around our house because I’m always cold. However, I’m a sucker for anything cableknit. LOVE! This was a great, cozy post (loved your comment about scarf/pumpkin spice latte vs. cozy blanket and movies!)!

Love warm & cozy! Throws are are a quick and easy update that really make a big difference for very little money. And I think I might have a scarf addiction. I’m especially loving all the ruffled ones that are popular now!

I enjoyed getting to visit 2 of my favorite style setters in one blog!

I love throws and scarves and use them from mid-September through March! There appear to be some great values out there on scarves, I need to go shopping.

I love the cable knit throws! I remember my favorite “comfy” item last year was West Elm’s cable knit throw pillows – they were darling and perfect for fall. Those baby pics are PRECIOUS!

I’m working up the energy to crochet a throw I saw in a needlework magazine. It’s very beautiful but very, very complicated. I do love that pom-pom throw. Anthropologie has a gorgeous scarf that I’m longing for and Etsy has lots of beautiful scarves also. There’s a designer in Sweden (I think) called Gudrun Sjoden that has those terrific complicated knit designs that are traditionally Scandanavian.

    Thanks for the warm stuff.

I love all of this! They all make me want to sit down in front of a warm fire, sipping a latte while cozying up under the Rosette throw. Everything is so lovely!

Thanks for the inspiration! I am looking for a throw to cover a stain on my couch. However, I might pull out one of my Great-grandmother’s crocheted blankets, since they appear instyle again. Hadn’t even thought to use one until now.

I love it! I have cozy blankets all over our house! I love snuggling up under one alone to read a good book or with my hubby to talk quietly and watch a good movie. And then there are the times I snuggle under one with my children to read them bedtime stories…so so necessary in Autumn! Yay!

Such a great post. Scarves are so fun…and that quote it right…it’s a great alternative to a bulky jacket. The baby knits are adorable, too!

Well, given that I sell fabulous, snuggly blankets in my shop, OF COURSE my home is positively strewn with the things, both fluffy mohair (in bright red and pink!) from Ireland and handcrocheted wool via my Mum. I love blankets with a deep and undying passion – originally Natural History was going to be solely a blanket shop, in fact.

As for scarves, I’m back to wearing pashminas as scarves just now – I haven’t found anything in the shops in Oxford to really make me leap for joy just yet. I’m pregnant and really feeling the cold this year though, so I must get myself something cosy and chic to keep me warm when I’m out.
