Personalized Art from Photographs

I love creating a home that is personal and meaningful to me and my family, especially when it comes to the artwork we display in our home. The other day I had a blank wall to fill and I really wanted it to be filled with reminders of our summer vacations at the beach. I looked through my options and realized I didn’t seem to have the kind of art I was hoping for.

Personalized Art from Photographs

Come see what I did to make my own art! I shared my little project over at “It’s a Blog Party!, and I’m pretty pleased with myself and how it turned out. Head on over to see it!

I’m so sorry there was no “Inspired By” post on Friday. My mom had to be rushed to the hospital and is very sick. In my rush to go be with her I forgot to hit publish. My scheduled post just sat there for a couple of days. I’m sorry I messed that up.  So, if you happen to pop by and want to link up (assuming this linky will still work), feel free! Otherwise, we’ll be back on schedule for next week! Thanks for your patience and prayers for my mom!

Just dropping in to say I will be praying for your mom. I am so sorry she is ill. Absolutely no need to apologise for not posting when you are going through a crisis. Real life and family are so far up the list of importance that blogging doesn’t even matter.

The photos look fantastic Melissa! First, just let me say, can you believe I had no idea you could change up your photos in Flickr? Thank you for that tip!

So sorry to hear of your mom’s illness. I hope she is feeling better.

I love the trio of photos framed together using a large mat in the white frame. You’ve transformed family vacation photos into Art.

Hi Melissa! I visit all the time but haven’t linked in a while. I love your photo idea. I just ordered a canvas for a photo I took and I’m excited to get it. I will definitely be doing this as well! I use Topaz Adjust to edit my HDR photos. What a super idea!

flickr/picnik also has a “posterize” option that does a similiar trick in taking a picture and making it look more like a drawing or painting. I have the picnik premium also and use it constantly, VERY worth the 25$ a year.
