How to Transform a Dated Room A Budget

How to Transform a Dated Room A Budget

When we first bought our 1950s house last year, we knew we loved many things about it. But, honestly there were many things we didn’t like. While it would have been nice to buy a house that was already perfect for us, our budget and time constraints didn’t offer us many choices. But we knew this one had enough going for it that in time we could transform it in time to a place we’d love.

Step by step, we are making progress. Every week our house looks a little bit different and feels a bit more pulled together. I can’t wait to share my progress with you this coming Monday for my fall house tour!

Today on the Life Storage blog, I’m sharing one of our first DIY makeovers in this house, our fireplace refresh. If you are new to my blog or haven’t been around for awhile, you may not even remember what this fireplace looked like before. Let’s just say paint was an affordable game changer.

You’ll find the before and after photo, the tale of our budget fireplace makeover and three ways to refresh a room, today on Life Storage!

When I’m in a creative rut (or I just need a little mindless activity during the day) I sometimes find myself heading off for an online window shopping excursion. I don’t always buy things, in fact, a lot of the time I really am just window shopping for inspiration and hoping some creative ideas will be sparked by what I see.

Sometimes though I do buy things. And then when the delivery arrives at my door, I’m so glad that I stumbled upon whatever it was :).

Today you’ll find a round up of some pretty fall inspiration I found during my window shopping excursion yesterday at Terrain. I SUPER LOVE this store (did you know it is owned by the same owners as Anthropologie? THAT says a lot about why I probably like it!). I always find something unique or fresh to inspire me. I especially love the relaxed and natural look of their products and photos. They all just feel like HOME to me.

I hope you enjoy the inspiration and ideas for natural fall decor.
